The Flowing Veil

“Logan!” screamed Saroush, “Put me down right now!” Logan only hitched her higher on his shoulder, and went off, despite her struggles to get free of his grasp. He was a centaur, and she shouldn’t have trespassed in the first place. It was her fault that she got carried away. Saroush was a gypsy, and she had been travelling as a refugee from Spain. She certainly looked unusual, with long flowing auburn-black hair, and deep green eyes. Logan was handsome, with tawny blonde hair, and electric blue eyes. It was love at first sight for the two of them, but the herd didn’t agree. Bhoutern, the leader of the herd, kicked him in the chest. “We do not have any human connections within our pack!” he yelled. Logan felt sad after that. He loved Saroush, and he carried her off, for her own safety. She didn’t seem to agree though. After a while, she got bored of struggling to get away, and she fell asleep. Logan sensed this, and he gently pulled her onto his back. Saroush was asleep for a long time, and when she woke up, she and Logan were in an enchanted glen. “We are in a different forest,” said Logan, gently nuzzling her. Saroush woke up, and Logan’s blue eyes were peering intently at her. “I love you,” she said softly. He wrapped a blanket around her, to keep her warm. She snuggled into his warm palomino coat.
