I'm drowning in my sleep

In the dreams I cannot keep

Struggling not to awaken

To a world that is forsaken

Longing to stay in my dreams

To leave undisturbed the seams

Of my wishes and my fantasies

Hiding from implacable realities

I want to tangle my arms in hers

Each dawn, to watch as she stirs

But I only see her in my dreams

For love, romance; all those themes

I want to live only for her kisses

While away life in idealistic wishes

But time slips by; my dreams won't stay

So I sigh and get up and start the day
