The Decadent Princess

You were their adored little play thing (Like a magnificent doll)
Pampered little princess (Desperate for attention)
Oh how I loathe you (Craving to be seen)
The Infantine favorite (spoiled and cruel)

You wore your crown proudly back then (That was so long ago)
You were their perfect little princess (The perfect daughter)
And then there was me (The juvenile delinquent)
But then we grew up (I did at least, and I was noticed)

And your status as princess diminished (Your crown, your thrown, torn away)
Our rolls in life switched (The crown passed to me)
It must have hurt you greatly (But then again, it’s always about you)
Don’t show them your tears (Your perfect, remember?)
Staring at your reflection in the mirror (Asking yourself, ‘Why did things change?')

The mirror breaks (And your life shatters, like the broken glass)
Starring at your reflection (As it crumbles into oblivion, you break down)
Your emotions contorted (Now you are their decadent princess)

Slowly you fade away (without a trace)
No one remembers your name (no one remembers you)
They only remember that you were (The Decadent Princess)
Gone from existence (But not completely forgotten)
