Meeting You

We met about a year ago
We talked about sports and crap
But when it came time to pack up and leave
I guess we just left it at that

About the same time just a year later
We gathered at that very same camp
Little did I know you were a little bit shy
And you hung out with my backstabbing tramp

I was friends with your friends and you were friends with mine
Yet our paths had never crossed
It hurt me to see you flirt with them
Our old friendship we had was lost

But they way you always looked at me
And the way you tried to impress
My friends could tell the obvious
And I was just a complete mess

They said you were completely crazy about me
The thought kept me up all night
But you were too distracted, you see
And you missed what could’ve felt so right

And now only a few weeks later
I see you all the time
But only for a few short hours
And to me, that was just fine

My friends kept eating lions
They shoved them down I swear!
But I was too careless to even see
That you were standing right there

I wish I could talk to you just once more
With out a care in the world or a bother
But who would’ve thought we’d drift apart
When we both know we’re right for each other?

But then you broke my heart
And my girls mended it with glue
And I think you should know
That I’m
SO OVER YOU!
