Freshman

I cant think of anything to write
My feelings are all in a jumble
Who knows when I’ll think of something
By then I’ll only mumble

I guess I’ll start with this
The biggest of my concern
Who will be homecoming king and queen?
I wish I could get a turn

Then there’s the fact of being to small
Not being heard by those who are willing
Being shoved to the side and walked all over
I’m fresh meat, ripe for the killing

And I’m not strong enough to be on a sport
Or not pretty enough to cheer
Not popular enough to have a boy friend
I might as well be queer

And even though I’m smart and outgoing
It’s the description of a has been
Because in the mess of this high school life
I’m just another freshman.
