A.N. Yeah, it’s a short continuation, but oh well.

Chapter Two cont.
Daren stood, threw away his trash, and grabbed my arm upwards, pulling me toward our next class. “And don’t zone out so much, it’s really obvious, you know?” he pointed out, that lingering smile still plastered on his face. Just maybe he wasn’t telling the whole truth, but I just met him, so what can one know in just a few minutes?
I didn’t notice that I had been staring at him until we were in front of the English classroom. “You can learn lots in minutes,” he stated and quickly walked in before I could say anything. Wait, what? How did…he know?
As the rest of the class trickled in, I sat in the back of the room and began doodling in the margins of my new notebook. For probably the final time of the day, the teacher called on me to introduce myself. My line of vision kept pulling in Daren into sight, why couldn’t I keep my eyes off of him? He too, kept his eyes on me, well duh, I was in the front of the room, but his secretive smile made me shiver.
And as usual, the class went by slowly with me already wasting a few pages of my notebook. After class, Daren stopped me as I walked out. “Hey, let me walk you home,” he half ordered, half joked.
“Oh, sure,” I meekly replied. As we were walking out shoulder to shoulder in the small hallways, I couldn’t help but notice the amount of eyes staring at us. Were things always like this?
We stepped out the doors and I heard him laugh heartily once more. “Oh man, you should have just seen your face!” he exclaimed in between laughs.
I put my hands on my hips. “What! What are you talking about?” I yelled just as loud.
His laughter died down and led me around the school, in the opposite direction of my home. He led me with a purpose, his smile gone. Daren sighed as we sat on a bench off to the side. We were now in a gardenlike scene, the school must have been proud of this view for it was just beautiful. Above us were flowers looked as if they had just bloomed ranging from the colors red, blue, yellow, etc.
“Vestia, if you don’t protect yourself, you will get hurt here,” he finally said. I looked at him suddenly, where did this come from? “Even from me. Hanging around me would make things worse,” he breathed.
I reached out and touched his arm gently, “I really don’t understand what you’re talking about.”
His cell phone rang as he jumped up and checked the caller. “Fuck…” he cursed silently. “I already said too much. Just be careful, Vestia. Please…” he warned. He ran off toward the front of the school, leaving me under the bridge of flowers.
I leaned back against the bench and looked up into the sky. Well if only we could understand others, but I guess we have to first get to understand ourselves. How long would that take?
“Hey! Hey you!” a voice called out.
I opened my eyes as I looked up at a clean white ceiling.
