The oddity of this formality is that it is not me.
You ask me to dress presentable, I ask you, 'What do you mean?' You tell me to have manners, I know that I've got them, but they are so dull. I love to dance in the rain, even though you think I'm insane. We're so different, yet so unique.
I want you to try it, just once, kiss me. Let's feel magic. You say you're old-fashioned, and frown upon those things. I laugh through split lips, but you laugh whole heartedly. Your heart is jaded, you know the precautions to this world, yet you sing when lightning strikes; and all I can do is hide away, beneath my well practiced lies and layers. I've got such an innocent, soft heart. We're so different, but I love you anyway.
I wanted you to stay, and yet you walked away. Now I wonder why we couldn't make it, we completed each other in a way I didn't understand. I drew hearts and butterflies, but you were the paper and pen. And now I'm doodling with my finger in the sand, and the rain is pounding down, and I wait for you to return. Because fairytales are real, and I sit here, drawing our names with the magic in my hands.
The moral of the story is that we were never meant to be.
AN This story is just a random little one-shot about love, it's opposites, oddities, heartbreaks and romances.
