An Inquiring Mind

Caught in a silent chasm of delight,

Prone to plunge into the neighboring crevice of despair –

A situation marred by bipolarity.

-

These flitting perceptual illusions

Are peculiar nodes of aid –

How much longer till the apex of reality is reached?

-

Climbing, climbing, always the ascension.

No sun yet in sight,

And yet no room for complacency.

-

It is your average eternal quest for fulfillment

Of the immortal soul –

To slake inquiring thirst with pure reason.

-

Awaken the innate residing within,

And damn these paltry reflections

Repeatedly cast on the mind’s wall.

-

This journey is unfalteringly arduous –

Will the end justify the means?
