The Poem of Empty
by frozenxblue
Black velvet covers the heavens
No stars, no moons, no planets shine tonight
I see again in the darkness
So cold, so barren, so full of the nothingness of the world
No children play in the playground
No cars can be seen in those dim city streets
No gold, no silver, no yellow, no red, no brightness is visible
No birds in the cloudy sky
No lights glow blindingly
Only a boot-shaped cloud can be seen
What does it all mean, I wonder
Walk a little more
The rain starts to pour
In the mist filled atmosphere
that oddly shaped cloud comes down
Stomping violently as if in hope of causing destruction
Fading into nothing
Just like everything else
I catch sight of a person
But the person is the same
As hollow as the world
I wonder what would happen
If the dark were to rise with all the sins ever committed
I shiver in the cold despair
Of the air
I walk back and...
No children play in the playground
No cars can be seen in those dim city streets
No gold, no silver, no yellow, no red, no brightness is visible
No birds in the cloudy sky
No lights glow blindingly
Empty...empty...empty
I climb back through the shattered window of reality
Waking up to the blood-red, shining sun
Suddenly I see the truth
Shock! Gasp! Choke!
Darkness has already covered all
Sin has already stomped down on innocence
Leaving it weak
Even if it will always win out in the end
I settle back down
I hope to fall into the sun one day
Go on a shooting star
Into the light
Forever staying gold
But for now
Darkness has already covered all
Emptiness has covered all like snow
A/N: The concept of staying gold came from Nothing Gold Can Stay by Robert Frost. I hope you enjoyed this poem. This poem seems really angst-filled but this is just a poem collection of whatever I come up with, whatever I feel or think at a certain moment.
