MoonChildren

Chapter One

Princess Aysu was exiled from the Moon and sent to live on Earth for a crime she didn't commit. When she finds more of her kind, will they be able to keep the existence of Sun, Star, and MoonChildren a secret?

A girl walked around for what seemed like ages in the dark night. She was searching for her family. Her human family. The Moon looked so far from here now. Her beloved Moon, gone from her life. Oh well, she deserved it. At least, that's what she thought.

She finally came upon the house she was looking for. It was fairly large. The people were supposed to be nice.

'Maybe it won't be so bad here.' She thought to herself. After entering the house the woman who seemed to be her new mom rushed up to her and embraced her in a rib breaking hug.

"Oh my, why were you gone for so long!? That doesn't matter. At least you're home now. Lily you've got to follow our rules. And that's final." Said her new Mom. Lily sighed, she hated it already.

"Can I go to my room now?" She asked. Her Mom nodded. Lily left the hall and proceeded downstairs to her room.

The room's walls were painted dark blue with stars and a moon on it. She rushed up to the painting of the Moon and put her fingers on it. A little tear rolled down her pale freckled face. Her bed was queen sized and covered in a black bed sheet with a big cresent moon on it.

Lily undresssed and took a shower. Then she stared at her hands after getting dresed in her pajamas. They were scorched and burned. A forever reminder of the destruction and pain she had caused. She grabbed a little book off her desk and began writing in it.

Dear Diary,
10-31-07

Already I hate it. I just want to go back to Lunagade with my family, friends, and Moon. And I've lost Aysun! I can't seem to find her anywhere. After the ship landed, more like crashed, she disappeared! Oh, I miss Father. I feel really guilty right now. As I should. I can't believe what I did. It must've hurt Daddy to exile me. This Earthy Mother is horrid. She gave me an Earth name. Apparently I'm known as 'Lily' now. But the important thing to know is that I know who I am. Well, I'd better get to sleep. At least the room is nice.

-Princess Aysu

She sighed and closed her dark blue eyes. Her hand brushed her long golden blonde hair out of her face and she remembered what had happened. How she had ruined everything.

Princess Aysu was in the Lunagade Library, as she usually was. She'd almost read every book inthe whole of Lunagade and was looking for something new to read. Suddenly a tall person, a man probably, in a cloak walked up to her and handed her a bright red book.

"Read it, you'll like it." Said the peron's gruff voice. It was most certainly a man.

"Ok, thank-you!" she called, but the hooded man had already gone.

She opened the book and screamed. Bright red flames shot out the pages of the book. The flames engulfed her body asnd she dropped the book. Instantly the flames disappeared. Aysu looked at herself and nothing had burned. Suddenly the librarien had walked up.

"Aysu, even though you are the King's daughter I will not have you messing up my lib-" But she stopped and gasped when she saw that book. It wasn't a regular book, it was a Fire Book. One of the ones SunChildren use to teach fire powers.

"No! I didn't get it! This man..." But she stopped.

Coming out the palms of her hands were bright red flames. She had learned fire powers. Aysu screamed and flailed her arms even more, burning everything in sight. Fires leapt every where. She just wanted it to end. The princess was trapped by her own doings. By her own stupidity. they had taught her about Fire Books, but she hadn't been listening.

Now her home was burning. A fire was raging in the capital of the Moon, Lunagade. Not even her water could put it out; not even her ice. Suddenly More MoonChildren came! There were many everywhere. One of them grabbed her and ran out of the library while the others put out the fire. The smoke had gotten to Aysu and she passed out.

"Aysu? Aysu? Oh please, wake up. Wake up Princess." Said King Aku, bending over his only daughter. Her eyes fluttered open and she looked at her father.

"Father..." But she broke into sobs. Aku held her in his arms.

"Do you know what happened?" He asked her. Aysu froze, then she looked up at him.

"It was me." She said quietly. The twelve year old was quiet and staring at her grim father.

"How?" Was all he could say.

"A man gave me a Fire Book and I forgot how to tell the difference and I opened it and..." But she trailed off. Her father gazed at her, tears in his eyes.

"You destroyed half of Lunagade; killed 100 MoonChildren; and injured 2000 MoonChildren." He said. Aysu was horrified.

"No! I-I couldn't have! I love Lunagade Father! I love everybody in it! H-H-how could I've destroyed it?" But she knew the answer, and her consequence.

The consequence for light or fire powers is exile and stripped of the fire or light. The princess had to be exiled...by her own father. Aysu knew she had to accept her punishment, but she couldn't.

A sob escaped her and she burried her face in her father's chest. She shook uncontrolably and her father wept silent tears. Their family was falling apart little by little.

"Father, go after Mother now. Since you can't love me any more, love her." She said before getting up and walking to her room to pack.

Her father was left sitting there, shocked at what his daughter had said. A long time ago a withc had fallen in love with him, but he refused her. He was in love with Nuray. So the witch cats a curse on him: he could only love one person. So he chose Nuray. But when Aysu was born he chose her. Nuray had gotten mad and left him. Where she was now, he didn't know. No one knew.

Aysu had packed and the whole kingdom, that wan't injured, was there for her departure. She was liked and many MoonChildren were fond of her. But now she had to leave them.

"Are there any that wish to follow her into exile?" He asked the crowd.

"I will!" Called Aysun. Aysun was her cousin, Nuray's sister's daughter. The brunette walked out of the crowd, holding her suitcase, and stood next to her cousin. King Aku nodded.

"Good-bye Aysun and Princess Aysu. Your new Earthy families will think you were born unto them; they will think you're their daughter. So no speaking of Lunagade." He said.

The two girls walked toward the ship that would lead them away from Lunagade and the Moon, and take them to Earth. they boarded the ship and never looked back.

Lily shuddered and laid down in her bed. Tomorrow was her first day of Earthy school and she'd better rest up. Maybe she'd find Aysun there.

There you have it! I bet you have questions? Well, her real name is Aysu and she's a princess. She's princess of the MoonChildren. MoonChildren are people born on the Moon. Lunagade is the capital of the Moon. SunChildren are born on the Sun; StarChildren are born on the stars; Earthies are people born on Earth. So, questions? Comments? Suggestions? Then PM or review! Till next time!
