Tayto cheese and onion
Or honey comb ice cream,
Potato bread dipped in oil
With an egg on to boil.
Soda topped with scramble,
Or a good old Ulster fry.

White bearded guiness, a bitter old man.
However, a great many are his fan.
Sit beside a warm glowing hearth, and
Listen to the glinting pipes sing softly,
Lulling a familiar ‘fiddlededee” tune.

A day at the races, oh what fun!
Don on the silk hat, but watch for a rip!
And remember, hide that sneaky betting slip.
Starting gates burst open with a clang and
The race begins in a coloured blur.
The ground pulses and shakes with a stir,
Already the finish looms and on they charge.
A winner arrives with his joyous jockey
In sweat, adrenaline and raised veins.
