Subtle
nuances of destiny are floating between us
like fallen petals
on the mighty river -
naked and free and toward worlds they've
never imagined.
But Destiny can be a cruel mistress
dragging
her victim through danger and turmoil and
those deepest
places in Hell
before granting a moment's stolen peace.
And
so I wonder what becomes of the petals,
so beautiful when
they've fallen -
like promises from the lips of the
Saviour,
when Destiny is finished with them.
