Lila is the outcast in school, she has friends, who just happen to be also unpopular. It's not that Lila’s not pretty, or talented, its just she chooses to keep quiet and be the ‘nobody’. But what if, James Wilkinson, the school heart-throb starts to fall for her?
Lila Matthews sat down in the canteen alongside her best friend, Nancy, and their friends. Lila smiled at all her friends. “Hi,” she said putting her bag down on the chair beside her, which at the time was vacant, and remain that way.
“Hey, Lily,” She heard six echoes say to her. Lila and her friends weren’t exactly what you’d called popular. Sure they were clever and got straight A’s, but they also were pretty, funny and loved to do things anyone would do. But in the eyes of the rest of the school, they were ‘geeks’ and were unpopular. Don’t you just hate high school today?
Lila wasn’t the type of girl who’d get angry just like that, or scream or care about what other people thought of her. She just wanted to blend in, and remain unnoticed until she got out of high school. Think about it, if your popular you can't wear the same outfit twice, and you just have to be in with the latest music, clothes, gossip and of course...boys.
“Over here!” Lila turned around, it was James Wilkinson, the school jock, heart-throb, and the guy every girl wants to go out with. If that were only true, there was just one girl in the entire school that could turthfully say outloud, “God I hate James Wilkins.” Lila turned back to her friends. You guessed it, Lila.
“What? How can you hate him?” Nancy asked Lila, still starring at James. “I mean those eyes, those lips, that hair and his laugh, doesn’t it just make you wanna go...” Nancy and the rest of the girls at the table sighed. Lila looked at them shocked.
“Honestly, You guys make him sound like he’s some god!” She said eating her pudding.
“If I didn’t have a religion, he would so be my god,” Kirsten Roberts said. Lila just tossed her brown hair back so it wouldn’t get into the pudding. Lila turned back around, the ‘jocks’ were now throwing a cup of pudding around. Stupid, what a waste of pudding, Lila thought.
“I so can’t sit here and watch or listen to this,” Lila said getting up from her seat. Normally she would have never given up her pudding, but she honestly felt sick inside, just thinking about James Wilkinson. It wasn’t that he wasn’t nice or anything, or cute, that he was. But there was something about him that Lila knew she didn’t like, she just had to find it. She icked up her bag and slung it over her soulder. She picked up her tray and said bye. Though she might as well said by to a wall. Kirsten, Nancy, and the rest of her friends were too busy laughing and watching James and his friends throw a plate filled with pudding. Yeah, amazing! She thought.
She stood there for a minute watching them. Steve passed it to James. “Go long Matt!” A dark haired boy ran right passed Lila, brushing against her. James, who was far away, threw the pudding. Lila watched it go. It seemed to take forever, but before se knew it, it had landed right on her chest. Her Black and white hoody was covered in pudding, and it was dripping down onto her dark blue skinny jeans. Lila’s mouth was open. She looked down. The whole of the cateen was silent. Then somebody let out a snigger and then seocnds later the whole canteen had erupted with laughter.
She picked up her plate that still had some leftover pudding. The whole school, or the ones that were there, became hushed all except James and his friends. “You wouldn’t Mathhews!” Josie Brooks, a bimbo-cheerleader said mockinggly to Lila. The Jocks and cheerleaders all sniggered.
“Just watch me,” Lila replied slowly. James was just standing there hi-fiving his friends. Lila aimed and threw the pudding at him. It landeed right on his chest. “Oops! My bad!” She said sarcastically.
“You...” James said in utter disbelief.
“Lila Mathhews, James Wilkinson, my office now!” Everyone looked up towards the staircase, it was the head of year 10, Mrs Kyle.
“Great,” Lila sighed dumping her tray in the bucket. Lila and James walked up the stairs looking at each other with daggers for eyes.
“Now look what you did!” James said accusingly.
“Me? You started it, you stupid-self-obbessed-jerk!”
“Ow, that hurt!” He said sarcasticlly.
“Want me to show you something that will really hurt?” Lila said threateningly. She fastened her pace so she could be anywhere but near James.
