AGED

Scarred,

Mark of pain;

Feature the sorrow that stains.

Blemished unclean,

No hopes or dreams.

When life beats the spirit down-

You loose control, your will.

Afraid to hit the ground,

You stay perfectly still.

Dark clouds fill your lungs,

And death speaks softly through you lips.

A repulsive sent on you he has hung,

But you’ve become a part of this eclipse.

A shield of some sort,

To reflect what you were taught;

Hidden inside-

An undone heart lies.

Broken unsure,

Your senses call for more.

Comfort in habit;

The reassurance of consistency.

Catharsis unfound-

Your vices remain…

Scarred,

Blemished unclean,

Hopeless,

Uncontrolled,

Deadly,

Masked,

Broken,

Habit.
