I stared at her all night
I can't believe I did that
Gazing at her longingly
Like a total fucking prat

I was hooked on her
I don't understand why
But for the evening
She had caught my eye

Maybe it was her smile
Or perhaps her friendly dress
Equally it may just be
Because I'm a total fucking mess

It must have been amusing
Seeing me so entranced
I think she was teasing me
With the way that she danced

She would shoot me a look
Then she would dance on
Nothing else mattered
The other dancers were gone

Where is she now?
I have no idea
The only thing I'm certain of
Is she isn't here

Will I see her again?
Who knows? Who cares?
I was never well versed
In these sorts of affairs

I'll see her again,
But things will not progress
I'm entranced with a dancer
No more, no less

I'm not arrogant enough
To expect her to react in kind
I've been here before
It's not pleasant I find
