First Love

This is my first attempt at a song, so it might not be that great, althought I have been told this is well written. Not exactly based on me, but there is a guy I like at my school so this is somewhat true. Edited 12-28-07 to fix the format, add extra stanzas and switch around a couple of lines.

My heart goes out to you, the boy in the green striped shirt

The same boy who never took a second glance at me

Is it right to laugh at the love that would never be?

Or is it just a fatal truth…one we never want to see?

-

(chorus)

-

Take one heart, throw it around and cause some chaos

Let it cool, shake, stir and sip

You’ve got heartache

Love is when you never know when things will ever be the same

Despite the cliché, you’re in love

-

You looked at me

With your gorgeous blue eyes

We had a conversation

Maybe there's a chance?

I can only hope

-

(Chorus)

-

Things weren’t as you promised me

You said everything would change

But everything feels the same

What happened…what went wrong?

-

(chorus)

-

You crushed my heart

Shattered it into pieces

Nobody measures up because of you

My standards are irrational

All because of the boy in the green striped shirt
