Let me love you anyway

Despite the craziness you cause.

It would be easier to love you anyway

Despite the sleepless nights I turn,

Wondering if, why, and, or, but.

To not give you up or see you cry

To protect you from the hurt

And myself from the pain.

It would be easier this way.

I can’t help but question

The certainty of love

For how does one lose the work of time?

And how does emptiness set in

When a pitcher never ceases to pour?
