It started out small, just an ember, glowing orange in the darkness.
Burn.
But it grew, until it had a dull roar that cast shadows along
the trees that surronded the clearing.
Burn.
She watched it, mesmorized by the color and energy that it held
and when it got dull, she feed it, watching it slowly grow to be the
monster she needed.
Burn.
It would send embers into the ink black sky, the fire that it ate sizzling
and turning to ash.
Burn.
The heat licked at her porceline skin, and the wind blew at her hair,
knocking it into her face and hiding her features.
Burn.
Beside her, in the dry arid grass, sat a small black box.
It had designs painted on with red on it, and it was open.
Burn.
Inside lay pictures. Pictures of her and him when they were still together.
And pictures of him and her .
Burn.
He was dead, but so was she .
The one who had kept the pictures, the memories, had made sure of that.
Burn.
It was all that she could think about, how she killed them
The senses of it flooded her mind.
Burn.
She remembered their cries as the fire consumed them,
she saw the pain in their eyes as they were burnt alive, as the flesh
sizzled off of their bones, and the tears that the fire licked at, quickly burning them away.
Burn.
She remember the smell of the burning wood and skin, and how when it was all done,
that there wasn't anything left, just ash.
All that remained was ash.
Burn.
She remembered kicking through the ashes and soot, walking through the burnt remains
of the house, touching the few wooden beams that survived.
She remembered how she felt venegence for what he did to her.
Burn.
And she remembered how the tears ran down her own cheeks when she realized
exactly what she had done.
Burn.
She killed them, burnt them alive until there was nothing left...
Burn.
The fire before her was spreading, moving from the small spot that it started in
and into the clearing where she sat.
Burn.
She waited, unmoving, wanting the fire to take her, consume her,
to end the guilt that she constantly felt.
She didn't want it anymore.
It continued to creep towards her, getting closer and closer until the heat stung her skin,
making her wince.
Her eyes closed as the fire began to engulf her.
It quickly burned her clothes and hair, leaving nothing to protect her.
And now it was to late to turn back.
The smell evaporated through out the woods, making her cringe.
Pain began to envelope her, covering everything, making her mind empty as she forgot everything.
She was burning, her skin bubbling and turning black.
Tears began to fall as she realized that this was what they felt, but the tears only melted away,
just like everything else.
Flames attacked her face, devouring her features.
She was burning away, becoming nothing just as they had.
The heat moved into her muscle, scorching through her body and blood.
All she could hear was the thumping of her heart.
It was slowing, just like a dying beat at the end of a song,
Her eyes fogged over, pain erupting from them as all she could see was orange, then darkness.
Everything was fading away. hope was fading away
It was stopping, her heart, the pain, she guilt, it was all stopping.
Her skin was burnt away, just like everything else.
And suddenly, it did stop.
She felt herself let go to fade away.
The little black box beside her disappeared into ash, just like the pictures,
just like the memories,
just like her,
just like them ,
just like everything.
Burn.
