Final chapter!
Sorry this took so long. I've had exams and finals, and that's why. But now I'm out for the summer! Yayz!

When Moon awoke the next morning, the sun was shining and birds were singing merrily. She smiled. Ah, spring. She slowly got to her feet and left the dens. The air was warm and moist. The dew was still on the ground and the grounds were absolutely full of life. For the first time in a long time, everything was back to normal. And, even better, she was getting married today!
“Morning Moon.”
Moon perked her ears and turned her head. Thorn was slowly walking out of the den. It was strange. The new Thorn was rather beautiful and scar-free. Whereas Moon was used to the rugged looking monstrous Thorn. “Good morning Thorn…”
Thorn narrowed her eyes “Why are you staring at me like that?”
“No reason.” Moon said. “I’m just not used to the…new you.”
Thorn perked her ears at this and looked down at her paws, then she turned her head to look at her body. “Wow…it actually happened…I woke up thinking it was a dream…” She smiled some, then looked back at Moon. “So, you and the other one are getting married, eh?”
Moon nodded. “When are you and Vetis going to?”
At that moment a black blur shot out of the dens, tackling and pinning Thorn. Vetis smiled down at her, his tail wagging. He then licked her maw and smiled at Moon. “Soon. At least I hope.”
“Get off…” Thorn muttered.
“Yup, she’s such a catch…” Sun joked, as he trotted out of the dens.
Vetis, who’d gotten off of Thorn, nuzzled her. “Yes. Yes she is. She might be rough around the edges, but she’s a gem on the inside.” He licked her maw again.
Thorn smiled a little bit and nuzzled him. “You are such an idiot…”
Vetis barked happily and bowed playfully, his tail wagging. “That’s the thing. I’m your idiot!”
Moon smiled and looked at Sun. Silently, they decided to leave the two lovebirds be. So they trotted off, down towards the river. The journey there was peaceful and silent. But when they arrived there Moon brought up the subject of Mutt and Glimmer’s newborn pups.
“I’m an uncle.” Sun said proudly. He then dipped his head down and began to lap up some of the cool, refreshing water.
“And how would you feel about being a father?” Moon asked slyly. Without waiting for an answer, she calmly dipped her head down as well and began lapping up some water herself.
Sun lurched forward a bit, plunging his snout into the water and inhaling some of the water. He pulled his head back and began coughing and sneezing. “Wha-a father? Me?” He stared at Moon. “Are…you…”
Moon lifted her head and didn’t look at him. She smiled and shut her eyes, then looked at Sun. “Yes…” Her smile faded. “Are…are you happy?”
Sun just stared. He knew they’d…but he’d never imagined…then it came to him: that burst of joy. He let out a happy yell and tackled Moon. Then, somehow, they ended up rolling into the river. Just like the first time they’d met. Both resurfaced and smiled at the other. Moon climbed out and shook her pelt dry.
“So I take it your happy?” Moon laughed.
Sun climbed out as well. He shook his pelt dry, spraying Moon with water. He grinned playfully. “Yup!” He then became serious and he nuzzled her. “I’ll be the best father and mate ever. Promise. Now come on…there’s something I want to show you.”
“Show me?” Moon repeated.
“Yes. Now just follow me!” Sun said, leading her off.

About an hour later, they stood in front of a huge sloping rocky cliff. Sun immediately began climbing it. He slipped a bit, but regained his footing.
“Sun what are you doing?” Moon cried.
“Just follow me!” Sun yelled, looking back down at her.
Moon sighed and began climbing after him, slipping a bit. “Your going to be the death of me, Sun…”
It took a while, but finally the sloping cliff leveled out. Part of it jutted out over the land, and that was where Sun was standing. The wind was blowing now and he let out a contented sigh. He looked at Moon and motioned for her to come to his side. She did so.
The view was spectacular. There was nothing but green tree tops as far as the eye could see. Though the river ran just below them. Sun smiled and looked at Moon. “Its beautiful, isn’t it?”
Moon smiled and nodded. “Gorgeous…”
“Glimmer and I found it as pups…” Sun said, smiling some. He sighed and looked at Moon. “Moon…I think…I think we should leave the pack.”
Moon perked her ears. “Leave? But…why?”
Sun smiled. “Don’t tell me you don’t want a new start…we can put everything behind us…we can claim our own territory and raise our pups there…we can forget all about Aldora and Kathan and everything that happened…”
Moon sighed. “I don’t know Sun…”
Sun nuzzled her. “Just…think on it, kay?”
Moon nodded.
Sun smiled. “Now lets get you back there so my lovely bride can be pampered to her heart’s content.”
Moon smiled and together they left.

At sunset Sun sat out in front of the dens, waiting for his bride. Everyone else was gathered at the chosen wedding spot, waiting on them. He stood up as soon as her heard her soft footsteps. Moon didn’t look much different, but she had had a ‘bath’ and she had pink flower petals in her fur. (Though that was on accident. On her way back from the river the wind blew and the petals from a blossoming tree found their way to her.)
Sun nuzzled her. “Your beautiful.”
Moon nuzzled him back. “Sun…I’ve given it some though…and I think we should start a pack of our own…”
Sun smiled. “You’ll make a beautiful alphess…but we can’t keep everyone waiting.”
So off they went, walking close and smiling. They occasionally looked at each other, but most of the walk they looked around them. The sunset was casting a holy glow on the forest and the sky was a beautiful mix of pink, orange, blue, and black. Finally they reached a clearing where everyone was gathered. They were all standing around a large flat rock and Arrow was standing there. It was tradition that if the two wolves being joined were not from the same pack, the Alpha of the male’s pack would marry them.
“Look how beautiful she looks…”
“Oh I’m so proud…”
“Who would have thought…Sun and Moon…”
“I still remember when Sun was just a little mischievous pup…”
These were the types of comments whispered as the two walked through the crowd, who parted for them, and on to the rock. Sun glanced around. All of his pack was there, including Glimmer and her pups. All of Moon’s pack was there, and her father was beaming. Thorn and Vetis were out at the back with the remains of their pack.
The service was beautiful and went smoothly. Well, until Arrow was about to pronounce the new couple as mates. It was dark by that time, and suddenly the stars began to shoot across the sky. They were like silvery ribbons streaking across the sky. Everyone stared up in awe.
“How beautiful…” Moon whispered.
Arrow smiled some. “I present to you all Sun and Moon, mates joined by the heart, now and forever.”
Sun and Moon licked each other’s maws and nuzzled each other. Arrow smiled a bit again, threw back his head, and began howling. The others did the same, even Thorn and Vetis. Sun and Moon smiled at each other and nuzzled one another again.

Early one morning many weeks after the wedding, Mutt entered Thorn and Vetis’s packlands. The two had taken what was left of their old pack and started one of their own. Mutt stopped and began sniffing around, trying to find his way to the dens. He didn’t have to. Someone let out a deep, menacing growl and tackled him.
“Thorn! Its me!” Mutt cried.
Quickly the alphess leapt off him. “Sorry Mutt…what’s going on?”
Mutt got off and saw that Thorn was not alone. In fact, it seemed her entire pack was out on an early morning hunt. “The pups…Moon had them.”
Vetis smiled. “How many?”
“Four.” Mutt said, smiling as well. “Three girls, one boy.”
Geryon smirked. “Poor guy…well, he’ll have your son to play with. Have you told Sky and Thunder and Rose?”
Mutt shook his head. “I need to go right now and tell them…I’m going to be exhausted before sunrise…are you two going to go see the pups?”
Thorn nodded. “Yes, of course. Now you hurry.”
Mutt nodded and took off again.
“Geryon, your in charge.” Vetis said, looking at their Beta. “Come on, love.” With that the took off back the way Mutt had come.

At sunrise Vetis and Thorn reached the dens in Sun and Moon’s lands. Glimmer and the others who’d left with Sun and Moon (Ivy, Bone, King, and a few others) were gathered outside in the birthing dens. When the two arrived, Jay and Peace, now able to walk and move around on their own, ran up laughing.
“Auntie Thorn! Uncle Vetis!” Peace cried, running up. She smiled. “Auntie Moon had her babies!”
Thorn, who had a soft spot for the two, smiled. “Oh did she now?”
Jay nodded. “Yup! There’s only one boy…but we’re going to be bestest friends!”
Vetis smiled. “That’s good. Now you two better be going back to sleep. Its too early for little pups to be up.”
Glimmer walked over. “He’s right. Now both of you go back to the dens and get some sleep.” She nudged them both and they hurried off to the dens. Glimmer watched them and smiled. “They’re so adorable…”
Thorn nodded.
Glimmer looked at Thorn. “How are your newborns, Thorn?”
Thorn had gotten pregnant with Vetis’s pups a week before the final battle. Whereas Moon had gotten pregnant the night of the battle. As a result, Thorn had given birth not too long before. There were three. Two girls, one boy. The girls were named Vega and Dysis. The male was the runt, and was named Ares.
Thorn smiled some. “They’re coming along fine…we can’t stay long though.”
Glimmer nodded.
Sun emerged from the birthing dens. He smiled when he saw Thorn and Vetis.
“Glad to see you two…come in. Moon’s awake.” Sun said, gesturing for them to walk into the dens with him.
Both Thorn and Vetis followed him in. The den was small and dark, but both could clearly see Moon with her four newborn pups. The new mother looked up and smiled. She looked down at her four pups, who were nursing.
“How sweet.” Vetis said, smiling some.
Moon smiled sadly. “Stone once told me that each birth is a new beginning…and that its just another story waiting to be told…” She licked the top of one of her pup’s heads. “I just hope their story isn’t is malicious as ours…and that it will have a happy ending.” She looked at Thorn, Vetis, and Sun.
Sun nuzzled her. “It will. I promise.”
