Asphyxia
Author:
SugarRayne PM
Held back, held down, restrained. The eternal struggle. Black vs. white. Gay vs. straight. Female vs. male. I wrote this to honor all those who have ever fought with their opposite and won, even if only a bit.

Asphyxia

I feel my bonds –

They restrict my breathing,

And wrap about me,

I must escape…

I feel my bonds –

They twist and tie me,

Crush me, bind me,

Pulling me back…

I feel my bonds –

They strain to hold me,

And cling so tightly,

"Let me go…"

I feel no bonds –

Of words unspoken,

They lie there broken,

And I am free…
