This is a very special piece to me as its a tribute to my late father who passed away almost 7 years ago. I am not uploading this to get pity but rather to honor my father in the best possible way I know how! The spacing is seriously p-ing me off...if you want to see what the spacing is supposed to be like, visit either my DA page or writing(dot)com portfolio (both under QuinSeparable)

Daddy can you see me
Grasping tightly to your thumb
With my tiny little hand?
Can you see my
Tiny eyes glancing up at you
In wonder?

Daddy can you see me
As I take a tiny step
Slowly, one at a time?
Can you see me
Stumbling and falling but never
Giving up?

Daddy can you see me
Walking into that new building
With my head held high?
Can you see me
As I take another step closer to
Growing up?

Daddy can you see me
As I take I buckle myself in
Taking the next step into adulthood?
Can you see my
Nervous anticipation over the next step
Of become free?

Daddy can you see me
As I stand there in cap and gown
Preparing for the colossal change approaching?
Can you see me
As I walk across that stage, leaving behind
My childhood?

Daddy can you see me
Even though you are so far away?
Do you see me as I grow and change;
Become a young woman
Independent
And forever in the realization
That you have missed so much of me?
Daddy do you know
That you are forever in my heart;
A part of me that will never die?
You may be absent from this earth
But you will forever live on.

Daddy can’t you see?
So much of you,
I find in me

Thanks so much for reading
