Desert I

The desert goes on

forever, it seems.

The dry sand engulfs

everything; plants unable to breathe.

The sun beats down as I

crawl across the vast expanse.

Why can't it end?

Where is my oasis?

My skin is dry, lips parched.

There's no one here, for miles around.

I call out for help, call to you,

but no one can hear my pleas.

I'm lost, in need

and the desert never ends.
