The sky swallows the sun,
Because the clouds know they can,
The sea still trembles,
Because of the restless land
The flower still blooms
Because of nature’s plan
The eyes can’t see
Because of the ignorance of man.
The stars still shine
Because of beauty’s stand
We still make love
Because we can.

A mother’s shriek fills the air
And yet the world still sleeps.
The sunshine parts the clouds
And yet the child still weeps.
The armies grow nearer
And yet the gatekeeper still keeps.
The dust never ceases
And yet the broom still sweeps.
We weren’t born with wings,
And yet we make leaps.
Who bothers to stay awake, anymore,
If evil never sleeps?
