I don’t think it was me you ever knew

Hoping to see a part of me that was true

I kept telling myself that it was ‘no’

It’s the spider’s web that Fate sows

-

I knew in my heart that it’d never be you

That heartless mask you knew I drew

I told myself you never knew

What a way to take things slow

I don’t think it was me you ever knew

-

One by one I think I slew

The secret pieces of what used to be you

That part of us that we made show

Picked our eyes like raven and crow

Dear heart, take apart what’s seen so few

I don’t think it was me you ever knew

((A/N: ok this is a rondeau. it's a type of French poem. Aabb/aaabA/aabbaa where the A is repeated. Hope you liked it. Read and Review please! i did this for my creative Writing I class last year.))
