Here’s something I really want to tell you about: you broke me, James Nathan, but I’ve fixed myself.

I’m Gracie Hart, but I’m not longer Super Overachiever Gracie Hart, the girl who can’t admit when she’s taking things too far. I can look people in the eye and say, yes, Chase Wright’s version of the paramedic story? That’s the true one. Yes, there were paramedics, and yes, they did put me in an ambulance and drag me away, and yes, I was kicking and screaming the entire time, and no, I am not proud of it.

I’m Gracie Hart, but I’m no longer your Gracie Hart, the girl who changed and then collapsed when asked to do it on her own. I can consider skipping a few calculus classes now and then, but not have to have you by my side to do them. I don’t have to skip an entire year because it doesn’t apply to my future. I make my own future, my own decisions.

I’m not the same person I was when you first met me, but I’m also not the person you wanted me to be. I’m me. And I’m okay with that.

a/n: ok, so, i am so sorry, this was supposed to be up monday at the latest and then life got in the way. therefore, it is up now, with apologies. and wow, this is totally the last chapter, i need to let that sink in a little bit. like i’m not really satisfied with it, because i feel like it could’ve been better, but i like how gracie’s kind of becoming her own person? or something like that, you know what i mean

anyway, right here i would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who has ever reviewed this ever, because you are all amazing people and i love you (especially Shadows in the Fire, my first reviewer ever who stuck on for every chapter) and yes, if i continue, this entire paragraph is just going to be a gush-fest and become longer than the entire story combined, so i will end it here with a huge exclamation of I LOVE YOU ALL because i do. 33333
