Snow Dust
-- Chapter One --
----Looking Back At the Clouds---
-

Through the skies, and past the rain, and the thunder, there lay a life unknown to the human world. It is a place where all the happiness is stored, full of peaceful air, and tranquil lives. Somewhere were the sun always shines, and one Lord rules the Thunder Raidyn, the Light Keelie, the Rain Emmett, and the Clouds Samuru.

Clouds, as all the angels refer to it as, was the most honored place in any realm. But, the Clouds aren't always so quiet and serene. No. Today, the SSS Secret Snow Society is holding one of the most important meetings.

"It's ridiculous!" a short, stubby man with no hair and feathery wings shouted across the meeting room.

"Yes, very! Samuru should know that stopping the snow is not only hurting the humans, but the Angels and Clouds as well," A tall, slender man was sitting at the table located in the middle of the room. His eyes were green and seemed to be reflecting the world behind them. He was head of the show.

“But,” another angel announced, "My husband is right, as are all of you. Samuru is doing the worst possible thing he could!” she pushed her long purple hair out of her face, and it fluttered as it fell against her back. All the time, she remained seated, as the committee members began to loose their tempers. It seemed more reasonable that she was in charge.

A tiny, very skinny woman leaned over. "Nice work Shioshi," she smiled, "you put is bluntly."

Shioshi smiled at the comment, but immediately went back to the discussion, "But," she spoke up, listening to the talking die down. "Bickering is useless, so, Hiroshi and myself are going to suggest, or confront Samuru." She glanced over at her husband, they were both a little nervous, but Shioshi wasn't showing it.

There was a silence that over fell the room, everyone was thinking. Of course, all were thinking the same thing, how could those two, no, how was Shioshi going to persuade their "Lord" Samuru, to give the Earth angel dust?

"Destiny is said to be known..." Hiroshi began. The crowd was surprised, he'd never been so serious. "But, only to us. Fate has it's own course. But to know the Destiny of one thing, you must also know the path in which Fate will take. We're said to not know the fate, but destiny... However we do not control Fate, nor do we know what it'll bring. Just as my newborn daughter,Yuki, was given life. No one saw it coming, not even Samuru."

The woman beside Hiroshi eyes lit up, she'd realized something of great importance, "That means, Samuru is blinded by his own selfishness! Forbidding the Angel Dust to Earth is just a way to keep it to himself."

An applause broke out in the conference room. But, then it seemed Raidyn, the Thunder God, was knocking at the door, for there were strikes of lightning, and cracks of thunder beating against the door. Next thing they all knew it, Samuru came barging in through the door entrance. His white hair passed his elbows and his pale gray eyes showed great anger. The Cloud's God had arrived, and was not at all happy about the meeting being held.

"What is this?!" his voice boomed, "You dare go behind my back?! You dare doubt my superiority?!"

All wings were down, afraid to look him in the eyes, all but Shioshi's of course. Her gaze was narrowed, and ready to strike out the selfish Lord.

"Trapping our Dust in the Clouds is a sign that our Lord is selfish and has no feeling towards our well being! Besides, the people on Earth need to know that someone is looking out for them, letting them know that things will be okay," Shioshi said in a calm, yet stern voice. She knew that there was going to be consequences to her actions, but her matter-of-factly tone made it seem she no longer cared about herself, but all for the world below her.

Samuru was taken aback, he'd never been addressed so rudely... No, so truthfully. "Well then!" he wiped the shocked look off his face. "If you want the humans to have snow, then, they need a few angels to accompany them!" he was not going to stand these unfaithful angels! His voice was bitter, showering sparks of frozen cloud dust, he turned around, not wanting to see these... betrayers. "All of your children shall be sent to Earth families, with no memory of Clouds. And all powers erased." He began to walk out of the room.

Before he reached where the door once was, "Samuru," a fragile woman's voice broke the silence. "Trent... he shall be sent along side Yuki and the others...?" she stood approximately five feet four inches, with short black hair.

Samuru turned around, the bitterness in his eyes disappearing, "No, Shin, how could you betray me?"

Shin looked away, ashamed of her husband, "You may hold the power, but, as long as there is Angel Dust, the world below must have snow. Shioshi was right, they need to know someone is looking out for them."

"Trent shall remain here!" Samuru's anger jolted the peaceful life held in Clouds.

Shin looked into his eyes, her blue ones searching his steel gray ones. "No, they are all going, with no exception with our son, he is just as the others!" With that, Shin past her husband and exited the room.

After Samuru had left, Hiroshi broke down, holding himself up with one elbow on the table the other covering his eyes which were beginning to swell. "Yuki, my darling little girl..."

Shioshi came up behind him, "Hiro," She said sweetly, "It's alright, I know our baby will one day find her way home, all we must do is wait..." She wrapped her arms behind her weeping husband, trying to hold her own tears back.

...The Next Day...

"Yuki, I hope you never forget the life up here. After all Earth is a big place, and you need all the angels to get back. Of course, who knows..." Hirioshi said, struggling not to cry, and holding his dear child in his hands. She looked up at him innocently. "But, you are only a few days old, so, I doubt you'll remember any of this, but I hope you always remember that I love you." He held Yuki's small body in his arms, "Shioshi too, she cried for you yesterday, just don't tell anybody," he snuggled her close. "She’ll be embarrassed.” He smiled wryly and chuckled slightly. “But, if you never come back, please, try to keep this with you... always." There was a locket that he'd placed around her neck, inside it there was a picture of snow falling from angel wings and her name: YUKI printed in fancy angelic letters, with the word snow under it.

"Her powers will always be there," Shioshi's voice came from the other room in their small home. "Samuru may be a mighty rulers will tremendous powers, but... her angelic aura will stay, along with her wings and the power to summon snow. She just needs to know that it's real, and believe that bringing luck, joy, or happiness to others is sufficient." Her voice was a little hoarse and cracking.

"Did you hear that? Mommy cares," he whispered, "she's crying for you, and she did all that research over night."

"Hiro, please, may I hold her, before she goes...?" Shioshi was standing in the doorway, her arms overlapping each other.

Hiroshi got up and walked to Shioshi, placing the young child in her arms, "Thank you..." she whispered out.

"I love you Yuki, never forget an angel's goal. Please, you need to remember all you can..." There was a short pause, then she began to sing lightly... "Snow is angel dust, Falling off their wings, Curing any pain, That anyone on earth had, That's why, When it snows, After it all melts away, All of the plants, And flowers come back, Their Colors more vibrant than before, Because of the healing, That the angels brought, Step outside, Feel them calling you, The whispers, Angels Dust... Falling, falling for you..." Shioshi stopped, the ancient song was over, the one they'd all learned, one that all the angels had passed down, but this little one would never get to know it. Her voice was melodic and soothing, but it had a sorrowful edge to it. "Well, it's time. Yuki, please come back, remember the snow that's falling for you."

Hiroshi, among many others, including Shin, where gathered around the opening to Earth, where they annually gathered to sprinkle snow in the world. All the angels had one or more children in their arms, all of them crying, all of then afraid of never again getting to see their babies.

Samuru was in front of all the angels, an evil smirk on his face, and a glint in his iron eyes. "Now, one by one, come and drop them down to Earth," He said bitterly, "But, I want Shioshi and her family to go first!!"

Shioshi stepped up, glaring at the "Lord".
"Well, Yuki, we wish you the best..." the two whispered to her as the gently let her fall to her new family’s arms.

One after the other, children were dropped, now, it was Shioshi's friend, "Kiyoshi, bye, please, go with Yuki," she whispered into her ear, "I love you ever so much!" Then, she was sent to Earth, and as her mother asked, she was sent close to Yuki.

The last one was Shin. "Samuru, this is what you get!" she flashed him a glance of bitterness, but changed the look for her son, Trent. "Trent, please, remember one day, help all the angels back, you're... no, all of you are our last hopes to true happiness... love ya," she kissed his head and let him fall, peacefully into a safe home.

...On Earth...

Each child was safely given to a new family, with their names, and reasons that differed that told why they were there. Abandoned.

"She's beautiful, just like an angel," A woman with a bun in her hair said, holding up baby Yuki, who'd she just found laying upon her front porch.

"She sure is, "Snow"," her husband said, taking a look at the locket that was loosely hanging around her small neck.

"Well, this is truly a gift from above. Her name, it stands for snow, dear... Yuki," She whispered to their new daughter.

"Yea, I guess it is, thank Samuru, Raidyn, Keelie, and Emmett," the man prayed aloud to all the God's that were above him.
