Don't Wake Me Up
Chapter Two
For the next three days Aaron didn't get a chance to see the pale girl that he had met on the elevator that day. He wasn't able to get her out of his head. She had looked so cute while she was blushing. She had left so quickly that he hadn't even been able to find out what her name was. She hadn't found out what his name was either. She probably thought he was some delinquet. After all, he was in the hospital from being in a fight, and he had kissed her before he even found out her name.
Sighing, he stood up and went to find his mom. She had said something about being assigned to some sick girl's room on the fourth floor. He got into the elevator and pressed the button that was marked with a four. When the elevator reached the fourth floor, he got out and went to the nurses station.
"Hey, do you know what room my mom's in?" Aaron asked the nurse with a sweet smile. The nurses at this hospital had known him since he was five, so for about eleven years he had been coming to the hospital with his mom, and they knew him well.
"Well hello Aaron, yea, I know where she is. Your mom's in the room across the hall there. She should be done in a few minutes, but if you want you can go ahead and go on in there." Carolyn, the nurse he had asked, said with a smile.
"Thanks Mrs. Carolyn."
"You're welcome sweetheart."
Aaron turned and walked into the room that Carolyn had indicated. "Hey Mom, can I get some..." He began to say, but stopped midsentence. What stopped him was the pale girl that his mother was talking to.
Aaron's mother looked up at him and smiled. "What is it that you needed Aaron?" He noticed how the pale girl from the elevator averted her eyes and blushed, her fingers moving to her lips. He had to repress his smirk. Looks like he wasn't the only one who had been thinking about that kiss.
"Oh...uhh..right, I was asking if I could have some money to go get something to eat." He said, his eyes still resting on the girl.
"Oh, I forgot to tell you, I'm running to a McDonalds on my break, so I'm gonna pick something up for you there. That's okay, right?"
"Yeah, but aren't you nurses supposed to be all for healthy food and stuff like that?"
"What? Do you want to eat salad for the rest of your life?"
"No, that's okay, I'd really rather not."
"Oh, I almost forgot, Aaron, this is Christa. Christa, this is my son, Aaron, the one I've been telling you about."
"So you're name's Christa? I was wondering." Aaron said, smirking at the blush this statement caused.
"You two know each other?" His mother asked, raising a brow.
"Yeah, we met about three days ago." He said, smiling at the memory. He still couldn't get over how cute the girl was.
"I'm sure you werent' doing anything bad at the time, were you Aaron?" His mom asked him.
"Mom, you know me. Would I do anything that you would disapprove of?" Aaron saidusing his most innocent face.
"Honestly? Yeah. Well Christa, I had better go get this delinquent some food, if you want, I can get you something too."
"N-no I'm fine." Christa said in a low voice.
"Are you sure? It wouldn't be any trouble at all."
"It's fine. I'm not really hungry."
"Well, alright then." With that, Aaron's mom left the room. There was a bit of an awkward silence where Aaron and Christa just sat, or stood in Aaron's case, looking at each other. The first to try and break the silence was Aaron.
"So..." That was as far as he could get with a conversation starter.
"Hmm." Was all that Christa said. She had a slight pink tinge to her cheeks.
There was no way he would be able to make it if things kept up like this. The silence was way too much. He had to think of something to say besides so. It had to be something witty, something that she wouldn't expect. Something the exact opposite of what he said.
"So, did you enjoy the kiss?" Aaron asked Christa. The pure shock adn embarassment on her face was enough to tell him that he had managed to say something that she hadn't expected.
"..." Christa couldn't think of a reply to that. All she could do was stare at him in shock and embarassment. The boy was terrible. First, he kisses her without her permission, and before he even knew her name, and then he asks her how she liked it.
"Well, you're conceited aren't you?" Christa finally got out. She knew it was rude, but so was teh question he asked.
"Eh, I guess I am. Are you going to answer the question?" He asked. He hadn't expected the response he had gotten. He thought she was just some meek little girl that wouldn't do anything to anger anybody. That's exactly how she seemed. But appearences obviously can be deceptive.
"No. I don't feel like inflating your ego. It might not be able to take it." She responded. For some reason, this boy made her show her mean side. She was usually calm and quiet, but so far, all she was around him was angry.
Aaron began laughing. "I like you. Not very many people will say something like that to someone they barely know."
"Yes, and not very many people will randomly kiss people that they don't know at all." She responded, smirking.
"Point." He said smiling.
"So. You're mom's a nurse?" Christa asked, trying to make conversation.
"Nope. I just go around calling random people 'Mom', and they respond. Of course she's a nurse." He responded.
"You don't have to be a jerk, I was just making conversation. It's better than just saying 'so...'!"
"No need to get snappy! I was only kidding!"
"..."
"What? Now you want a staring contest?"
"..."
"Would you just say something?"
"Something."
"Oh very funny. Well, how old are you?"
"You know, it's rude to ask a lady her age."
"Yea, well, you're not a lady, you're just a girl."
"And you're jsut a moron, what's your point?"
"Owch! Hey now, you barely know me, don't you think it's a little early for insults." Aaron said, placing his hand over his heart in mock hurt.
"Well, wouldn't you say that it's a bit early to kiss someone when you've only just met them?"
"You're just not going to let that go are you? If you keep going on about it, I may start to think you want another."
Instead of responding Christa just looked at him.
"I'll take that as a 'go ahead and do it.'" Aaron said as he walked closer to her. Her eyes widened and she backed up until she was sitting on the hospital bed with her back pressed into the wall. He sat down right in front of her, and before he could stop himself, his lips were on hers, his hands were on her waist, and he was lost to the world.

Okay, I'm done. If you're wondering, no not all of my chapters are going to end in a kiss. Hopefully, this is the last one that does, but the next one might too. Well, thanks for reading. Review please!!
