Hiya! This is a poem written for a contest where I have to talk about a New Year's resolution. Well, it seems that strange spirit possessed me again and I got this written in five minutes. A poem at this length (and I know this is pretty sad), it takes me about an hour to get it written well enough for me to enjoy it. Yeah... "
Enjoy and please review. Constructive critism please.

Ten,
Nine,
Eight…
I search my mind,
I open the gate.

Seven,
Six,
Five…
A resolution and
Reason for living my next year’s life.

Four,
Three,
Two…
Yet another chance to start anew.

One.
This is the New Year,
Two-thousand and eight,
Not a second too early,
Not a moment too late.

I’ve searched my mind,
I’ve opened its gate.
My resolution is to live my life
Beyond its rate.
