Phear, our mighty King of our kind. Peace may bind the people, or war would overcome the Great Ones. Please, let our hands join in unison and form an alliance by Strong Blood. Aye, this is the light to our souls from the darkest age...blood bond. Nay, the light shields its form during the rise of dawn. He is feared by all and not one is to be spared. Break the friendship and the blood would shed. Take a taste, peal the skin. Rip the muscle and claw the meat. Do you feel betrayed? Don't jest with the king; don't think you could get away from living a life of a traitor. What could save the soul of thee? Nay, nothing, but aye, never over power your kind, your brothers, and the life of you would forever remain in peace. Please Phear, spare my heart and thou shall ever be loyal to you, Phear, Phear...Phear.

Prologue
Manhattan New York, 1910
The devastating news made it to Lilac as she was preparing a visit to Rhode Island. Lilac dropped all of her belongings and headed towards the entrance way of her mate's mansion. Just as she appeared there, Xavier was making his leave.
"Where do you think you're going?" Lilac asked her mate as he was opening up the double doors. He turned around to meet her stunning violet eyes. Xavier cleared his throat and knew that she could sense his fear in the air. "What are you doing Xavier?" She asked again. His hands shook and his legs almost felt as if they couldn't support his weight for another minute.
"I'm leaving you, Lilac." He confirmed; courage was lacked in his weakening voice. She slowly made her way down the steps with much grace. He closed his eyes, knowing that it wasn't what he wanted. He didn't want to be with Lilac for another minute – let alone eternity. The woman had too much power over his poor soul. Hell, he was one of the Lords of New York, yet he couldn't push aside a mere girl. Xavier heard footsteps take away the awkward silence that lingered between him and his mate's. He opened his eyes again and looked around. All the workers and his family were there. He looked off to the side to see that Cherry was standing at the corner. This was the woman he wanted to be with for life.
"Why do you insist on leaving me, dear husband?" His back made contact with the doors as his wife had finally approached a little too close towards him.
"I have a mistress," he stated, a little more confidence then before.
"A mistress?" She repeated. The only answer he could give out to her was a nod. "Why would you leave me?" Could it be possible that pain was hidden within that sentence?
"I have a mistress and I love her very much. Lilac, your mother was the one who arranged our marriage and I am responsible for calling it off. I no longer want you." He spoke calmly. This should end up well, he thought. Xavier will not spare her feelings any longer.
"You don't want me anymore?" She looked up at him, half torn. He gulped down what seemed to be a rock in his throat. This woman was too much for him to bear. He had to make her leave him...now. He straightened his back and looked down upon Lilac.
"Hear me out!" He shouted to all his men. "From this day forward—"
Lilac's eyes widened as she knew what her husband was going to say next.
"I will no longer claim—"
"No!"
"—this woman as my mate—"
"NO!"
"—she will forever be set free by—"
"No! No! No! No!!"
"Our holy king and God, Phear!"
"Please no!"
"Let us pray for this fortune to our King."
"...no..."
Xavier looked at her eyes. She had tears streaming down her face and was biting her lower lip with two sharp fangs. "I will never want you," he whispered.
"NO!!" And from that day forward, no man would ever want a woman like her – she was something that was used and tossed off to the side.
A/N: A very short prologue. But I hope it's a bit interesting to the reader.
Reviews would be nice. : )
