First glance

The air in the bar is filled with the smell of smoke and whiskey. He watches from across the room as she leans on a table, her gloved hand holding a cigarette to her lips (she's beautiful). She takes a puff, her lips pouting as she exhales the smoke. He wishes for the briefest of moments he was that smoke, that he had the luck to be that close to her. To taste her lips against his. Her porcelain pale skin glitters in the candlelight.

It's a curse to be so beautiful.

She stubs out her cigarette and walks on stage. Her white dress sparkles, giving her the grace of an angel (but she's far from being an angel). He takes a swig of his whiskey as she opens her mouth and begins to sing. It's soft at first, almost reminding him of dewdrops on grass. Then it grows in the thick silence into something passionate and real; something he could almost touch. The siren sings, her voice a husky alto.

His heart skips a beat.

He glances into her sad eyes, and she meets his gaze with her crystal blue irises. He's surprised to see his own broken soul reflected in those eyes. (It seems like she's singing only to him) After the song the room parts as she walks over to the bar, her dress trailing behind her. She leans close to him, and he can smell the lavender shampoo on her auburn hair. Her ruby red lips touch the flesh by his ear and she whispers, " Make me feel something." He nods, ignoring the ring on her finger.

" I'm broken too," he murmurs as she pulls him to her room.

" Then maybe we'll both finally feel."

A/N: This is a new collection I'm going to be working on, focusing around these two characters. I don't really know what inspired me to write this, but I like the idea so I'll attempt to make it work. I'll still be adding things to Pandora's Box also. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed it. More will be coming soon! Please review and let me know what you think. Lots of love.

Faith
