Groaning, I rolled over and hugged the doona closer to myself before getting comfortable again. I moved my head and felt the fabric underneath and snapped my eyes open.

This was not my bed.

Good morning’, a disgruntled yet slightly pleased voice made itself known from across the room. I looked over and found the guy I had carried up here, awake and sober.

Morning’, I mumbled, tucking the doona further around me before I sat up, leaning against the wall.

Who are you?’ he smiled smugly but still overtly glaring at me. Of all the nerve…

My names Jaimee…’ I muttered awkwardly, smiling softly, before leaning forward, holding my hand out, hoping he would shake it. He didn’t. I glared in return.

Beatles shirt Jaimee?’ he asked. I rolled my eyes and sighed, sitting back against the wall.

Yes, as it seems’, I muttered. ‘Who are you?’

Danny, I live here, and you’re in my bed’, he grumbled.

And you vomited on my clothes, Suffer’, I snapped back, causing his glare and angry façade to fade.

Oh’, he muttered, looking rather guilty, ‘Sorry’.

You were pissed, it happens’, I sighed, running my hands through my hair before dragging them down over my face, holding them there.

You can borrow our washing machine if you like?’ he offered. It took all of my restraint not to scoff at his offer. It would have been much simpler if he had just lent me some clothes, but he had tried to help. That was something.

Thanks’, I mumbled.

Or…’ he started as he looked up at me through his ever so long lashes. Had he looked like that last night, or did he seem more attractive this morning?

Or…?’ I questioned, swallowing a lump that seemed to have gathered in my throat within the span of a few seconds.

You could borrow some of my clothes…’ he seemed to be pausing a lot. Unsure of himself, maybe?

Are you sure you’re all right with that… I mean, I can always wait while my clothes wash, I’m pretty sure you won’t need your bed any time within the next twelve hours’, I said rather confidently. ‘If that’s all right with you, of course’.

Uh sure’, he seemed nervous, ‘where are you clothes, I’ll put them on for you’.

I couldn’t help it. I laughed at him. It wasn’t because he looked like he was going to upchuck again, I laughed at what he said.

I didn’t know you were interested in cross dressing’, I smiled and he looked more sick now than he did last night. My bad.

I…I mean…I was…’ he fumbled stupidly for words.

Danny…I know. I was pulling your leg’, I laughed softly as he just smiled stupidly and nodded. We were both silent. ‘My clothes are over there’, I pointed at the neat little pile over by the side of his desk.

Oh’, he laughed densely again before rushing over and picking up my puke covered clothes and dashing out the door. Opening it first, of course.

I sighed as I took in his room. There were several framed posters all over the wall, but what there seemed to be a lot of were the gold discs that artists got. A band called McFly had released three albums and each of them were sitting side by side on his far wall.

I scooted over to the edge of the bed, making sure the doona was secure; I stood up and shuffled my way over to the golden discs. I smiled, remembering my dreams of one day becoming as famous as the Beatles were. Judging by the wall, this McFly were well on there way to it. My smile widened as I saw the album covers. Had I been so blind as to not notice these on my weekly visits to the record store in town?

I heard the door stutter as it was pushed open slowly. My smile dimmed slightly, but was still present as I turned to see who had been so intent on seeing the chick that had spent the night naked in Danny’s bed. It was Harry. The person who had awkwardly greeted my at the door the previous night.

Morning’, I mumbled, turning back to the discs. I made a mental note to search Google for what they were really called, I felt silly calling it a disc when really it was a rather deep box containing a CD.

It seems like you had a good night’, he laughed, a beer in hand as he walked into the room looking the doona, wrapped around me, up and down.

Your mate couldn’t handle his alcohol and decided to unleash it all over me’, I snapped, not meaning to sound as angry.

Danny does that. A lot. Let’s put it this way, in a circle of death he’s the first one to pass out’, Harry laughed, my smiled widened at that.

I take it you all played circle of death last night?’ I laughed softly, remembering the first time I had played it. I remembered it all so clearly I shivered a little. I was so innocent after that night.

Yeah, it’s amazing the games you have here’, he finally came to a stop beside me, turning to look at the boxes on the wall. It seemed like it had taken him ages to take the three steps from the door.

What are these?’ I sighed, giving into my overt curiosity.

Platinum awards’, he smiled, looking up at them gaily.

For McFly, I gathered that, but…’ I paused. Didn’t the bands receive these?

But what?’ Harry asked, breaking my reverie.

Are you McFly?’ I groaned, turning to him.

Not just me, Danny, Tom and Dougie are all apart of it as well. It takes more than one person to make a band you know that, right?’

Fuck it’, I grumbled, gathering up the doona so that I didn’t trip on it as I stormed my way out of the room. I probably shouldn’t have been as angry as I was, but, it swelled.

Where are you going?’ Harry shouted after me as I stormed away from the bottom of the stairs and towards the door. I didn’t have a single though going through my head of what the neighbours would think, I just knew I had to get out of there. ‘Hey!’

I was across the road and about a metre from the front door when I remembered the neighbours. ‘Shit’, in groaned, running towards the door.

I walked inside and saw Jason passed out on the couch and my brother asleep in the arm chair. Looks like they had fun. I sighed softly, making my way up the stairs and into my room, jumping only slightly when I found Sarah passed out in my bed.

And…’ I said as I walked closer. ‘I’m washing my sheets after she leaves’, I whispered, as I noticed someone in my bed with her.

If you pay me, I’ll wash them for you’, an unfamiliar voice mumbled from my bed.

Who the hell are you?’ I whispered as the face of the gentleman sat up and scooted off the end of my bed, not waking Sarah at all.

My names Dougie,’ he smiled, shaking my hand softly. ‘This you’re house?’

No, I just walk into strangers houses for the fun of it’, I scoffed causing him to laugh.

I’m sorry about last night, as well’, he muttered.

What do you mean?’ I growled, staring at him. How could he possibly know about Danny?

Just got off the phone to Tom’, Dougie grinned, waving his phone at me. I groaned.

It’s not big deal’, I smiled finally, ‘want a coffee?’

That would be nice’, he whispered,

Give me a second to become presentable, and, wel…’ he smiled and left the room while I dumped the doona and grabbed my ever faithful Beatles shirt and the bra I had dumped there after it wouldn’t fit. I threw on a pair of jeans before following him down stairs.

So…’ he said awkwardly.

So’, I smiled, turning the kettle on and sitting on the bench beside it.

So why were you wearing Danny’s doona?’ He asked out of no where.

Let’s not go there just yet, I’m still a little embarrassed about waking up in his bed naked’, I mumbled. I was technically avoiding the topic of storming out of his house because of the band.

You woke up in his bed naked?’ Dougie asked, mouth agape.

All right, fine, we’ll go there’, I snapped, ‘Danny got pissed early in the night and I wanted to be the nice person and save him the torment of passing out with his shoes on’.

What’s wrong with that?’ he asked, stupidly. I jumped off the bench as the kettle clicked, and scoffed.

If you pass out with your shoes on, you’re free game, permanent markers, chips up nose, things in arses’, I faded off as I made the coffee’s.

Okay…’ he said, looking slightly appalled.

So, I helped him up stairs, and then…’ I made a gesture to indicate vomiting after I handed him his coffee and he nodded with understanding. ‘So I, locked the door, stripped off, and jumped into his bed, only because he passed out on the floor’.

Ah, okay’, he smiled, ‘enough said’.

So, why did you and Sarah come back here, of all places?’ I muttered, heading into the lounge room and sitting on the floor. Dougie sat beside me as I turned on the TV. Jason and Sean were still asleep, taking up the only available seats we had in the lounge room.

Don’t know, we were both too pissed to even think straight, and those two on the couch…’ he indicated to Jason and my brother tiredly, ‘Said it was cool or something, I don’t know, I don’t really remember much’.

I bet’, I laughed, flicking through the channels.

Did he really vomit on you?’ Dougie asked out of no where. He seemed to be contemplating the fact that I could be lying, or even Harry could be lying.

Yep’, I muttered awkwardly, finding a channel I liked, ‘sound effects and all’.

Well, I’m going to head home now’, he muttered, drinking the rest of his coffee and standing up.

I’ll see you later’, I mumbled, focused on the TV.

Most likely’, he laughed, walking out.

I yawned again as I made my way down the driveway. I had fallen asleep in front of the TV after Dougie had left, and only just woken up. It was currently just after two.

Afternoon’, someone shouted from across the road as I turned left at the end of my driveway.

Shit’, I cursed as I noticed who it was. ‘Afternoon, I was just going to the shop’.

Sure, no problem, did you get you’re bra back?’ he shouted across the road. I covered my face with my hand, feeling more and more embarrassed by the second.

Yes, yes thanks, did you find you’re erection, I mean I’ve heard of guys never getting it up before, but last night was just a joke?’ I shouted out in return, causing him to shut up. I smiled, secretly pleased with myself as I continued my way down the road, shoeless.

That was just mean’, he whispered beside me as I reached the end of the street.

Taken up stalking, have we?’ I smiled, turning right and heading down the hill. He didn’t follow nor did he say anything and I was home free.

I made it back an hour or so later, after having had some lunch and gone shopping for some new amusement. I knocked on their door and waited awkwardly.

Yo?’ Dougie shouted from inside before opening the door. ‘Oh, hey’.

Hey, Danny home?’ I questioned awkwardly and he nodded. ‘He’s in his room?’

Yeah’, Dougie said quickly, opening the door and letting me in.

I made my way up stairs slowly, not sure I really wanted to go ahead with the scenario that was playing through my head, but it seemed like the sweetest revenge for scaring the crap out of me and vomiting on me.

Hello?’ I shouted, knocking on his door.

Don’t come in’, someone screamed, and it didn’t sound like Danny. I stood where I was for awhile, wondering what was going on.

What? What’s going on?’ I shouted, bringing my hands up to cover my eyes, just in case I was tempted to look.

Jaimee, what are you doing here?’ I heard Danny shout, a few carpet muffled footsteps.

Just, uh, dropping off your doona, there…’ I indicated dumbly as I threw his doona somewhere.

I’ll talk to you later’, I heard someone whisper before pushing passed me. I wasn’t sure whether they were talking to me, or not.

You can open your eyes now’, Danny mumbled. I faltered in my procession of uncovering my eyes as I heard a rather loud, but dull thud in front of me.

I’m sorry, Danny, I didn’t know’, I grumbled, letting my right arm fall to my side before opening my eyes. I looked at him I immediately noticed he had hastily thrown clothes on. His jeans weren’t done up and he had done the buttons up on his shirt in all the wrong holes.

I shook my head after I realised I was staring and looked around on the floor, trying to find the doona I had come to deliver. I found it about a foot behind me, lying incredibly neat on the floor by the door. ‘I, uh, just bought your doona back’.

Yeah, just throw it on the floor over there’, he whispered, fiddling with his computer, indicating over to a chair in the corner that was currently holding a rather impressive looking guitar. The one impressive looking guitar that I had been eyeing at the local music shop for years. Why hadn’t I noticed it last night? Or had I?

Is this from Kosmic?’ I questioned, hoping to all god that it wasn’t. I had been saving and saving for that guitar ever since I spied it in the corner of the store. It had been made by the store owner and AC/DC.

Yeah, I needed a new guitar’, he mumbled, turning around to look at me. ‘Why?’

Because I have been saving up for that guitar for nearly seven years,’ I sighed, picking it up and using the edge of his bed as a seat.

Oi’, he shouted, angrily, standing up and snatching it off of me. ‘Don’t play with that’.

It’s a guitar, it’s not like I’m going to drop it’, I spat, giving him one solid glare.

It was expensive’, he snapped, but it wasn’t as harsh as his first outburst, he seemed to be regretting snatching it.

I know, I’m sorry’, I sighed, ‘I’ll ask next time’.

Next time?’ he questioned, smirking at me before sitting back at his computer, guitar in hand.

Or not, just throwing a truce out there?’ he probably wasn’t like him at all. I shivered at the thought.

You okay?’ he questioned, staring intently at my face.

Yeah, fine’, I smiled softly and he didn’t look convinced but still turned away.

What are you up too?’ I muttered after awhile, getting myself back together. My thoughts had wondered away from the people sitting in this room to the person now floating around in the state somewhere. I hadn’t thought about him forever, maybe because it hurt too much?

Just writing a few songs’, he muttered in return, not taking his eyes off of the computer screen.

Oh?’ I sighed, my eyes locked onto the discs on the wall.

You seem surprised’, he laughed hollowly. I could only but nod.

So the fact that I was in a band wasn’t the reason why you bolted out of this room this morning?’ he laughed and I could feel my face heat up. I didn’t answer just started to read the words on the screen.

You didn’t write that’, I snapped, pointing at the screen and laughing. Sitting in the word document was now the lyrics to Trapt’s song These Walls.

I know, I never said I did, I was finding the lyrics to some songs, while writing my own, don’t assume next time’, he smiled.

Next time?’ I smirked.

Or not, just throwing a truce out there?’ he laughed and I smiled.

So what band are you in, this McFly band, or another one?’ I questioned, finding the edge of his bed again.

McFly, so are Harry, Tom and Dougie’, he mumbled, deleting some of the words he had just typed.

So you play guitar, what do the others do?’

Both Tom and I are vocals and guitar, Dougie’s bass and Harry’s on drums’, He grumbled, deleting more of the words he had just typed.

Ooh, drums, remind me to see him, drummer’s are good with they’re hands apparently’, I laughed.

Guitarists are better, why do you think all the girls go for them, huh?’

Speaking of girls, who were you poking earlier?’ I could see him tense up and I wasn’t sure whether I was safe or not.

Uh, an old friend…’ he said cautiously.

You boink old ladies? Dude that’s just wrong’, I laughed and I could see him loosen up slightly. This old friend must be someone I mustn’t be allowed to know about.

Yes, well, the older the better they say’, he smirked as he turned to look back at me, ‘More experience, you know’.

Hmm, I’ll keep that in mind’, I smirked back and he just shook his head.

You’re an odd one, you know that?’ he muttered again, typing more words.

Like you never have wounds,

I’ll torment till you do,

Sit you on the glass,

Scrap your porcelain skin.

Your body’s wrecked,

Wretched lump,

You’re almost dead,

Your heart has stopped.

The blood it moves,

Smooth and silky,

Taste is salty,

Creamy and milky.

Appetite for light is fading,

Quickly hurry,

Your life is hanging,

Sweet and smooth,

Like liquid crimson.

Hurry sweet,

My lips won’t linger.

My life is gone,

I wonder why,

So I take it to the skies.

Life is lonely,

Dark and shady,

Keep together,

Or sleep forever’, I recited, staring off at the golden CD’s hanging on his wall.

What on earth was that?’ he laughed, turning completely on his chair to stare at me.

I, uh, used to be into the “Dark Side”’, I sighed, turning to look at him, ‘I used to be right into the whole blood and shit of it, and I wrote that, I used to read it every morning and every night’.

Why, it’s so…sadistic?’ he chuckled.

Exactly the point of it, people used to think, or some still do, think that Vampire’s are sadistic creatures’, I sighed.

Are you serious?’

Can we stop talking about this, please?’ I questioned, staring innocently at him.

How long did it take you to write that?’ he muttered, not getting my subtle desperation.

About ten minutes’, I snapped, standing up.

I, uh, I’ve got to get home, cook dinner for the retards, I’ll talk to you later’, I whispered, crossing my arms and heading for the door.

Don’t take this the wrong way, but I bet you look hot as a Goth’, he chimed in before I exited his room.
