The Square Walls of a Circle
As seasons change,
So do the people.
Just as the fallen leaves go their separate ways.
The treehouse becomes dusty,
As the ladder breaks away.
The moon changes phases,
But it always comes around.
Just as the tide swallows a castle,
Each grain of sand remains solid ground.
As snowflakes fall,
To blanket us.
The sun still shines on the untaken path.
Even as the world’s tears become rain,
All answers can be found in a baby’s laugh.
And the most skilled archer,
Aims for the weakest deer.
Just as the proudest of all creatures,
Sheds more than their millions in tears.
As colored masks,
Cover faces.
Just as the clothes worn show who we are.
Though new surroundings overcome us,
Like the bear cub, don’t stray too far.
