Silence as I walk these sun-lit halls
While I trail my fingers along the bumpy walls.
My thoughts drift elsewhere
As I relax without a care.

Pausing, I look down at my phone
Looking forward to that certain tone.
It comes to life, and my heart leaps for joy
For my chance to speak to that man, not a boy.

Then our schedules pick up again
Much to our hearts' sadness and pain.
We drift apart, for only a little while
But soon reunite with a kiss and smile.

This is the happiest I've been, I must confess.
My heart is hardly ever in a state of distress.
Just the thought of the taste of his lips, a glance into his eyes
Makes me ardently desire to see my guy.
