Its Friday night

And if the house didn’t look so

Whimsical.

We’d be at a movie theater.

Just me and my guy.

She strolls over the screen like

There’s an audience.

She’s aware of.

Not really a movie star—

Some chick hired from a coffee shop;

They liked her walk.

But she struts on those red carpets all the time

In my eyes.

Yeah, I’m just waiting for her

To climb on out of that screen.

When she’s least ready.

And I most expect it.

Because feeling this content is an excuse to keep living

And all I’ve ever wanted to be

Has been here waiting, right beside

myself--keeping grip through a ghost.
