POINT OF NO RETURN

The moment we are born, we begin to die a little;
That is the way life is.
A never-ending cycle of birth and death, joy and despair,
light and dark…good and evil.

For even in the most pure-hearted of people,
there still exists a flicker of darkness.
‘It is choice,’ some argue, ‘that determines who we become.’
‘It is destiny,’ others say, ‘that influence our choices.’

So which is it? Choice, or destiny?
We may never know, but this I know for certain:
Within every person there is a glimmer of evil,
and whether it be choice or destiny
this darkness will inevitably consume us
in ways we can’t possibly imagine.

Jealousy, anger, greed, revenge…
…and forever that thirst for blood.

It is the typical human nature, and we cannot escape it,
no matter how hard we try.

Some may resist the lure,
others may embrace,
but the fact remains that no matter how far we run
we can never get away from it.

For it is always with us,
the darkness that threatens to rule our lives,
in the deepest depths of our souls,
of our very beings.

And that is the most dangerous journey of all:
the seduction into our own darkness.

The temptation.

The taste.

The descent.

And finally, the consumption.

Once it has been tasted, there is no turning back.
You have reached
the point of no return.
