Chapter 57: The End!!
Reko looked up to see Shi racing towards them. The others continued to fight, unable to look away, for fear they’d be killed or hurt. Reko immediately took the gun off Eclipse, and aimed for Shi as she ran towards them. Eclipse looked around and saw Shi running, and immediately his heart started racing. Reko took careful aim, before pulling the trigger. The bullet just barely missed Shi’s head, but it didn’t slow her down. Turning into her demon form as she ran, she picked up speed.
As soon as she was in range, Reko shot again, and again, missing his target. Shi finally was close enough to take a leap, and that’s what she did. She pounced on her father, wrapping her wings around the upper parts of their bodies, covering their heads so no one could see what was happening.
Shi dug her fangs deep into his throat, blood spraying out of his flesh. Reko froze, dropping the gun, and staring straight up at the ceiling, unable to move. He was paralyzed at the thought of the Fox daughter he tried to kill most, got to him first. Eclipse stared at the two, wishing her could see through Shi’s wings. A scream from behind distracted him, and he turned to see Abi and Shadow backed into a corner, hunters surrounding them. Taking one last look back at Shi and Reko, he jumped to his feet, turning into his demon form, he raced towards the girls, ripping out a handful of feathers as he went.
Sliding to a stop in front of both girls, he whispered and blew the feathers away. Then turning quickly, he covered both their heads, and ducked down, while a few feathers exploded, and the others showered them with water.
“Holy fuck, that was COLD!!” Abi screamed, shivering.
“That was my ear, but at least your still alive, right?” Eclipse asked, shaking his head, and throwing water around.
“True.” Abi agreed, nodding.
Before she could say anything, a near by hunter pulled a hand gun out, similar to Reko’s, and shot it. The bullet struck Eclipse in the arm, blood shooting out from the wound. Abi screamed, and covered her mouth.
“AH! FUCK ME!!” Eclipse cried, gripping his arm, and trying to cover his ears.
“Damn, Abi!” Shadow cried, covering her ears.
“I don’t know which hurt worse, getting shot, or having my ears screamed out.” Eclipse grumbled.
“Oh shut up! Now is not the time to be funny, when you’re about to be shot again!” Abi growled.
“Like hell I am.” Eclipse muttered, ripping out more feathers and whispering to them.
He turned his head and blew them away, and they instantly exploded into more Eclipse’s. The hunters immediately became confused, and dropped their guns and stopped fighting.
“Surround the hunters only.” Eclipse commanded
The illusion Eclipse’s surrounded all the hunters around them, and stood guard while the others looked at the real Eclipse to make sure he was ok. Everyone looked at his arm, and watched as the bullet was pushed from his flesh, and fell to the floor, while his arms healed the rest of the way.
“Good as new. Lets go.” Eclipse said, immediately jumping to his feet.
He helped Abi and Shadow up, and they turned to look at Shi and Reko. Shi had released Reko and was backing away, shaking her head, as he fell to the floor. As he fell, Shadow noticed that his neck was open and bleeding badly, while Shi was cringing. Suddenly she darted for a corner, and started vomiting.
“Shi…” Eclipse muttered, running to her.
Shadow and Madende made their way to Reko, while the others stayed behind, staring at either the dead or dying hunter, or Shi. As Eclipse reached Shi, he didn’t touch her, but knelt down beside her, trying to see her face. He gently placed a hand on her back, as she continued to vomit. After a few minutes, she fell back away from the corner and wiped her mouth on her arm.
“God, that shit is disgusting!” she cried, gagging again.
“Well, yea. Vomit usually doesn’t taste good.” Eclipse muttered.
“If you had to drink Reko’s blood as I just did, you would disagree with that statement.” Shi replied, looking at him.
“Really?” Eclipse asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Yes. His blood is rotten. Its like a human drinking sour milk! Its gross!” Shi said, gagging yet again at the thought.
“Ok, well don’t think about it. Every time you do, you gag.” Eclipse said, gently rubbing her back.
Shi smiled at him, and leaned towards him. But she stopped just a few inches from his face.
“If I hadn’t just gotten sick, I would so kiss you right now, but I’ll spare you the disgusting taste.” she whispered, kissing his cheek.
“I wouldn’t mind.” he said, wrapping his arms around her.
“Ouch!” Shi cried, pulling away from him quickly.
“I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to! Oh God! What has he done to you?” Eclipse panicked.
“Shh! Shh! Its ok. Its not your fault.” Shi said, putting a finger over his lips and smiling.
“But-” Eclipse started, a tear rolling down his cheek.
“No buts! Its not your fault. Relax. Just give me a few days time, because bruises heal slower, and then everything will be fine, I promise.” Shi said, wiping away his tear.
Eclipse nodded and dropped his head so that he was looking at the floor. Shi could tell that he was still crying, and wrapped her arms around his neck, hugging his head tightly. Eclipse felt her tense slightly when he put his hand gently on her side, but she didn’t cry out or move away, so he left it there.
“No more tears. You’re fine, I’m fine, everything will be fine.” Shi whispered, and Eclipse nodded, and looked up at her.
Shi smiled and kissed one of his tears away, then laid her forehead against his. Suddenly her whole body started to shake, and her grip on him loosened. Eclipse looked at her, fear spreading across his face instantly. He grabbed the side of her face and looked at her, but her eyes where closed.
“Shi, what’s wrong?” he asked, sitting up on his knees.
Shi didn’t answer, but her body continued to shake violently, as if she where having a major seizer. Shadow and Madende raced over to their sister, but Abi and Jake remained behind, tears forming in Abi’s eyes as she watched the scene from where she was. Jake pulled her into a hug and she hid her face in his neck, crying softly. Kyle and Cahadras stayed behind to keep an eye on the hunters that the illusion Eclipse’s where guarding. Kevin stopped at the foot of the stairs and stared in Shi’s direction, stunned and worried.
Shi’s body suddenly stopped shaking and hunched forward, her hair falling around her face, shielding it. Eclipse tried to look at her face, but couldn’t see anything. Suddenly, more hunters raced around the corner, pointing guns at them all. Eclipse looked up, then back down at Shi, and fell back away from her. Her once bright blue eyes where now blood red, and her fangs hung down low, giving her an all time evil look. Shadow and Madende too jumped back, staring at their sister. Shi slowly got to her feet, glaring at the hunters that had just arrived. Immediately, they dropped their guns, and dropped to their knees, bowing before her. Even Kevin got down and bowed with them.
“What’s going on, Jake?” Abi asked, looking at Shi and all the hunters.
“I don’t know.” Jake said, shaking his head.
“New rule!” Shi snapped, at all the hunters.
Her voice was the same, but she looked different. Eclipse and the others stared at her, stunned and shocked beyond belief.
“From this point on, as your new leader, I command that you no longer hunt us! You will leave this place and its memories behind, and return to your families! No more hunting humans or demons!” Shi yelled out.
“But Master! That’s all we know now. And the young ones, all they know is killing. Are you sure you want them out there among other people?” one of the hunters asked.
Shi thought a minute, and looked around.
“Alight. You may stay here, but I will give you a new leader, because it will not be me.” Shi said, looking around.
“I’ll take it from you.” a familiar female voice said, and the girl stood up.
Shi looked at her, and her eyes widened. Aurora, Drac’s sister, stood before them, looking back at her with longing eyes. Shi glared at her and stepped away from Eclipse, Madende, and Shadow, walking towards Aurora.
“Why should I give it to you?” she growled.
“Because I made a promise not to kill you. Why wouldn’t you trust that?” Aurora replied.
“Because a promise is just words until its proven to me that you mean it. I know someone who has already proven himself to me.” Shi said, walking away.
“Who? That little traitor, Kevin?” Aurora growled, following her.
“Traitor? No.” Shi said shaking her head and stopping as she reached Kevin.
Bending over, she placed a finger under his chin, and pulled up, causing him to stand. He looked her in the eyes, and she smiled at him, then turned back to the rest of the hunters.
“This is now your new leader! Obey him, as you did that filthy, good for nothing, father of mine!” Shi yelled out, and the others cheered.
Aurora didn’t cheer, however. She glared at the two of them, muttering something. Then she slowly walked forward.
“Master should have killed you when he first found out that you were helping these little rodents! But no! He felt that he could change you! And he was wrong, you got him killed!” she snapped, still walking forward.
“That may be so, but he was only doing what was right.” Shi said, stepping in front of Kevin.
“What was right?! He got him killed! He never did anything to him except give him a good home and good food!” Aurora yelled.
“He was trying to kill me and my family! What’s right about killing your wife and children because they are half demons instead of pure blood?!” Shi screamed, making Aurora jump and back away. “I don’t know about you, but I’m glad he’s dead! He knew exactly what my mother was when he got together with her! And yet, he still seemed to think that we were all going to turn out just like him!”
Aurora continued to back away, until she bumped into someone. Turning she saw it was Madende, who was glaring down at her. To her side, Shadow stood, glaring at her. Aurora wasn’t exactly trapped, because one side was left open, with Serenity being locked in her room upstairs, but Eclipse now filled that spot, glaring at her.
“What do you have to do with anything?” she remarked.
“That master of yours, killed half my friends family. I believe I have a good reason to be standing here.” Eclipse replied.
“The hell you do.” Aurora remarked.
“Boys! What do you say to taking Aurora here, upstairs to Serenity’s room, and chaining her up as I’m sure Reko has done most of you many of times!” Shi called out.
The room irrupted with cheering, and Shadow and Madende stepped aside as two hunters raced forward, picking her up over their heads and heading up the stairs. Kevin tossed one of the boys the keys to Serenity’s room and cuffs as they headed up the stairs. As they all disappeared, Kevin turned back to Shi, and was shock to see that her eyes had returned to their normal, bright blue color.
“Wow. That’s going to take some getting used too.” he said, smiling.
“What’s that?” Shi asked, raising an eyebrow.
“The eye changing shit.” Kevin said.
“My eyes have changed? To what?” Shi asked, looking shocked.
“Well, they were blood red, but they’re back to normal now.” Kevin replied, smiling again.
“Ok, good.” Shi muttered, smiling back.
Kevin looked around and noticed the body of Reko laying on the floor close by. Raising an eyebrow, he walked over to it, and knelt down. Abi and Jake met him there, looking at Reko’s body. Abi’s eyes widened as she looked at Reko’s throat, which had been practically ripped out. She looked up at Jake, who looked back at her nervously.
“Ok, remind me NEVER to piss Shi off!” Abi muttered.
“No shit.” Jake muttered back, standing up.
Abi stood up next to him, and looked over at Shi, who was talking with Eclipse and Madende.
“But I do need to give her a piece of my mind for scaring me like that.” she said, walking away.
Jake smirked and followed after her, while Kevin remained with Reko’s body. As they reached Shi, she looked up and smiled weakly at her, and dropped her head. Abi stopped just beside Shi and raised her hand to smack her in the back of the head, but stopped dead when she noticed her sides.
“What the hell happened to you?!” she cried, pointing to Shi’s bruises.
“Reko.” Shi replied.
Abi growled and glared back at Reko.
“If that son of a bitch wasn’t already dead, I’d kill him myself! No one ever touches my friends like that!” she growled.
“Come on. Lets go over here, and get ready to go. Kevin has a clan to look after now.” Shi said, smiling.
They followed her over to where Kevin was picking some keys off of Reko’s body, and stood up. Cahadras and Kyle made their way over, and immediately, Cahadras smacked Shi in the back of the head.
“What the hell?! She’s already hurt! Couldn’t you have waited a day or two?” Abi cried, wanting so bad to grab Shi in a hug, but at the same time not wanting to hurt her.
Cahadras glared at her, and she froze.
“I mean, uh…” Abi said, smiling innocently, then jumping behind Jake again. “Continue.”
Cahadras smirked, and looked back at Shi, who dropped her head.
“Don’t ever worry me like that again.” she growled.
Shadow and Madende looked at each other and smirked.
“Wow, you where worried about me?” Shi asked, looking back up at her.
Cahadras glared at her, and she dropped her head again.
“I’m sorry.” she muttered. “That was a stupid question, that I already know the answer too.”
Shi looked up and shook her head. Then she looked back at Cahadras who was smiling evilly.
“You controlled me again, didn’t you?!” she cried.
“Yes, yes I did.” Cahadras smirked.
“What did you make me say this time?” Shi asked.
“Only that you secretly had the hots for Kevin.” Cahadras muttered, looking away.
“WHAT?!” Shi screamed.
Cahadras laughed coldly and shook her head.
“I wouldn’t do that to you. You should know better. I simply made you answer your own question. Now, I have to be running. I’ll come around every so often.” Cahadras said, then darted out the door.
“See ya!” Shi, Shadow and Madende called.
“Good riddance.” Kyle grumbled.
“I heard that!” Cahadras’s voice yelled in the manor.
“What the fuck!” Kyle yelled.
“I told you!” Shadow said, smiling.
Kevin walked up to Shi and smiled at her.
“Well…I guess this is good bye, for a while, huh?” he asked.
“For a while, yes. Not forever.” Shi replied.
“Good. I’ll miss you.” Kevin said quietly.
“Same here.” Shi said, smiling.
“Well…I’d hug you, but…I don’t want to hurt you.” Kevin said, starting to walk away.
“Just be gentle.” Shi said, wrapping her arms around him and hugging him. “Thanks for helping me out today.” she said quietly.
“No problem.” Kevin replied, very gently hugging her back, and smiling.
Shi pulled away from him, smiling up at him, then left to be with Eclipse, who greeted her with a kiss. Shadow walked over to him next, and he half anticipated her to slap the shit out of him, but she didn’t. Instead, she too hugged him.
“Thanks for looking out for her.” she said.
Kevin smiled and hugged her back.
“Your welcome.” he replied.
“Just do me a favor next time.” Shadow muttered, looking up at him.
“Ok?” Kevin asked.
“Warn me ahead of time, next time she plans something like this.” Shadow whispered.
Kevin chuckled.
“I really don’t think there will be a next time, but ok. I promise.” he said, nodding.
“Thanks.” Shadow said, smiling, then walked away.
Kevin smiled back, and watched them as they headed for the door. Serenity soon came down the stairs, and looked around. She quickly noticed Reko’s body laying on the floor, and ran to the first person she saw…Kevin.
“What happened to him? Oh…its you.” she grumbled, when he turned around.
“I could say the same about you.” Kevin remarked, crossing his arms. “You better go catch up with them. They’re waiting on you.”
Serenity looked to the others, seeing Adam very gently hugging Shi, and growled. Kevin looked back at the group, then down at Serenity, smirking.
“You know, after all she’s gone through to save your ass, I think you should back off of you jealousy.” he remarked.
“Don’t tell me what I should back off of.” Serenity snapped, and started walking away.
“You know, I am leader here now, I could always chain you back up.” Kevin said, raising an eyebrow.
Serenity glared at him over her shoulder, and kept walking. Kevin shook his head, and turned away.
“Stupid bitch…” he muttered, looking around.
“Bye Kevin!” Shadow and Shi called, waving at him.
He turned and smiled, waving back.
“Bye! Be good! Stay out of trouble!” he called back.
“We’ll try!” Abi yelled out.
Kevin laughed, and watched as they flitted away, disappearing into the night.
