Myth of Blood

Veins contract

Blood slowing to a crawl

Boiling, fluming

Desperate for escape

Breath reduced to shallow gasps

Hands clasped in agony

Fighting to control

A pounding heart

What will ease this torment?

Three words will do,

Words I know

To be taboo

Wonders of flesh

Hinted, withheld

Knowing a rage

Comes between

Half-lies whispered

Rumours fly

Seeking to corrupt

That which is innocent

A child at play

Under the sun,

Not knowing the

Darkness to come

And darkness surrounds

Choking out all light

Cold prevails

Warmth eliminated

Screaming echoes through the night

Heartrending sounds of agony

Love lost

Sent to another

Death victorious

Another life lost

To the terror of heartbreak

Blood ceases to flow
