Vengance
In the calm of the woods,
In the quiet of a clearing,
Where animals avoid going;
A body hangs.
A body that has no eyes.
A body that’s skin is flayed,
Strips hanging down.
Teeth marks are the only scars visible,
Detectable.
Bones white to the eye.
A dark mass beneath, gathered in drips,
A body symbolizing all that is pain,
Agony written all over.
Justice you may think,
For a crime beyond the human imagination,
The violation and abuse of his flesh and blood,
The rape of his youngest daughter.
To be flogged and stoned,
Then to be hung.
Pain blinding his last hours,
Vengeance for the child.
