Learning?
As the air mushrooms in the sky,
People choke and cry.
A gruesome death for thousands,
Rises millions of feet in the air.
As planes speed from the sight;
Having banked to aim more true,
Children run with missing limbs
And grandpas’ faces show silent screams.
Torn clothes and bloody rags, fly,
And air becomes tiny particles
Of human ash and radiation gas,
Breathed in to cause mutation of later offspring.
This is the legacy of the 20th Century,
The result of a conveyor belt of new technology.
Not a thought to the future;
Just progress at the cost of lives.
We should always remember.
We must always remember.
And maybe we might learn,
What it means when we play God.
