I wanted to write something great from the heart,
But my rhyme wasn’t flowing, didn’t know where to start.
It’s like I couldn’t add, divide or subtract,
I just couldn’t decide, if my mind was intact.
So much so, I’d swear it was true,
Though born in the fifties, you were just twenty-two.

The years come and pass, but our hearts never change.
It’s your spirit that inspires; its effect has such range.
For this you are loved, admired by many,
Don’t believe me? Ask Paul; who notes every penny.
Our friends and our family look to you for advice,
A gift you dispense, no matter the price.

I can only hope, that we do right by you,
Show you our love, and prove that it’s true.
If you don’t think you lead, we follow you, all.
Though only 5’3”, you stand 10 feet tall.
In case you don’t know, you’re loved very much,
Remember this always, through the lives that you touch.

Happy Birthday Mom
