Peace

I can see it.

The darkness is creeping closer.

I smile wistfully.

Would it make its way to me?

Will it give me the piece that I want?

It's taking a human form

and you stand before me.

“I will help you.” You say

but I spit in your face.

“Help me? I ask.

“You were the one that killed me!”

You smile. “You are still alive.”

“I am dead.” I say. “Just like you!”

You smile yet again and disappear.

With you disappears the much wanted darkness.

I guess I am not to die in piece.

The way that I made sure you did.

I pick up the knife beside me

and smile, slitting my wrists.

The red blood drips to the white floor.

So beautiful, the red against white.

I fall to my knees still smiling.

So I get to die too.

I get to die a beautiful death.

Just like you.
