Freak

I want to be with you

I want to hold you in my arms

I want to look at your silver eyes

And feel myself drown in them

“If you want me,

then fly to me.” You say

I take my clothes off

And feel the cold air

Prickling on my skin

The skin on my back rips apart

and if feels like my whole body is on fire

I feel the pain burning through me

A pain that soon becomes a part of my being

A pain that has brought with it

A set of black wings

My new appendages are dripping blood

I can feel it sliding between each feather

Liquid that is much thicker than water

I push myself to the sky

The wind is beating my face

I finally feel free

I fly to you

But you step back

“I have wings now” I say and smile

“You are a freak!” You say with disgust

And shatter my heart.

A freak you say

You told me that I have to fly to you

And now you push me away

I jump and rip your body appart

It is so easy

You skin sounds like wet paper when torn

The blood covers the rest of my body

And slides to the ground

“A freak.” I repeat

“You are right. I am a freak.”

I smile and push off the ground

I may be a freak

But I have a heart

And I am alive.
