Losin’ Things

I feel like I’m losing my mind
Things are slipping out of my grasp
Leaving my head
I forget and I forget
And I get so tired of forgetting

I lose things that way
Forgetting more than I should
Forgetting my time and my place and my words and my life
Though there are many more hours on my clock…
And many more grains of sand in my hourglass…

Memories and events and people and places
All falling from my head
Slipping away like fish from a hook
Flying away like birds from a shot
Falling over the edge into an empty space

I hate to forget even though its part of me
I hate the extra effort it causes me, how it exhausts me
I hate when it makes me feel stupid
I hate making excuses because of it
I hate pretending that it doesn’t bother me

I feel like I’m losin’ my mind
Things are slipping out of my grasp
Leaving my head
I forget and I forget
And I get so tired of forgetting…

AN – A poem that I connect with. It came from within me more than most of the other poems I’ve written. I love this. I love it like I love “Never Break”. I think it’s okay by the worlds standards…
