Prologue

Ele: Oh fun!

Kla: This should be entertaining.

Tab: Seriously, Nic, we are both being ignored.

Nic: At least your story got written first Tab. :P

Years into the future from the now…

Ugin tapped his foot on the ground, glancing around him towards the towering people who more then tripled his height. He didn’t mind, being as short as a gnome wasn’t bad to live with. His shoes we’re pointed and he wore a large enough tunic to reach his knees. A belt tied around his waist for a little fashion as he glanced around the large domed room.

The Ceremony of Spirits was tomorrow and if the Head Master didn’t arrive soon Ugin feared they wouldn’t have enough time to even prepare the arrangements. The room was large with torches looming from the ceiling, giving light. Many people in robes darted this way and that, most searching for the Head Master or returning home to spend time with their families before the long ceremony began. Ugin rubbed his beardless chin and glanced around him. The many legs that covered his view of the entrance angered him.

“Oh Head Master!” Ugin shouted his voice both deep and high as he waved his scrawny arms at the new arrival to the room. All the people in the room stopped and made room as the towering form of the Head Master marched towards Ugin. The Head Master wore a long glowing robe of purple and gold trim, his cape flowing behind him as he strides towards Ugin. The Master has no beard and white hear covered the top of his head. The Master’s eyebrows busy and furrowed with concern and concentration; his eyes we’re hidden under the bushy mass of his eyebrows.

“Is everything ready Ugin?” the Head Master asked. Ugin quickly followed behind the Master’s hells as they proceeded through the room to a large door with strange symbols drawn along the doors and large circular handles.

“We are nearly ready, sir. We only need yet the blood of the Remember. However, the Remember has not been found. The last one died during the last ceremony.” Ugin explained. The Head Master stopped in front of the door, one wrinkled hand rested on its wooden makeup.

“We will have to find the Remember during the night. We haven’t much time till the morning.” The Head Master explained, his wrinkles moving as he was in deep concentration.

“Sir, it will be to difficult to find the Remember by tomorrow morning.” Ugin complained, backing away in fear the of the Master’s great sorcery.

“I understand Ugin. I haven’t much time. I want you to search yourself along with the other available sorcerers. I know you have read the texts about the Lady more then anyone here. I trust you can find the Remember before tomorrow morning, just in time for the ceremony.” The Head Master drummed his fingers against the wood, smiling slightly to Ugin who looked at him wide eyed.

“It is not possible, sir! It will be to difficult!”

The Head Master chuckled loudly, the sound echoing off of the stone walls. The other sorcerers stopped and stared widely at the booming Head Master. “I understand that, Ugin. Shall we have a glance at the statue of the Lady once again to remind you of the urgency? It will be simple on finding the Remember. Just think about the Lady as you gaze into the eyes of the people you meet.” The Head Master winked at Ugin who jumped in surprise.

With a great effort, the Head Master pressed against the large door with his hand that rested on the wood. The door creaked open and he stepped aside. Still shaken Ugin shook his head and ran to catch up.

Another large domed room was inside. Light streamed from a opening in the center of the dome. The light streamed down towards a large statue that took up the room. The statue was of a girl, on her knees wearing a large jacket that reached down to her knees and had no zippers or pockets. Her left hand was up to the ceiling as if in offering while her other hand rested on her mud covered boots. On the stand the statue stood was an engraving. The Lady was carved into the stone stand the girl kneeled on.

“Do you remember why this statue was made, Ugin?” the Head Master asked, his hand running across the engraving.

Ugin nodded and pointed at more writing below the name. “It says so there sir. ‘In remembrance of the woman who discovered spirits and led them to the light where they now rest in peace. This statue has been made to remind us of our differences and which we decide that we are evil. To remind ourselves of the evil and love that guided the spirits to their resting ground and ensured a long lasting inner peace that made us our home.’ That is why, sir.”

The Head Master nodded. “Yes, Ugin. That is exactly why. This woman or girl, found the spirits because she believed in something, she believed in people’s differences and she believed what people did not. Do you know what that is Ugin?”

Ugin nodded as well. “Of course sir. She believed that there was something beyond Andromeda, she believed there was magic and there was yet another race or species to be discovered.”

“Very correct, Ugin. Very correct.”

Many years before this event, and yet still after the present…

The same girl from the statue quickly dodged a punch aimed for her nose and made a quick uppercut punching her opponent’s chin and making him fly backwards into the dirt. He lost, yet his gang members rushed her and pushed her to the ground where they gagged her and tied her, bound hand and feet.

“Where’s your elves to save you now, Marg?!” the boy shouted, wiping the blood away that dripped from his nose. The girl tried to lunge for the boy but was brought back by his friends and a blind fold covered her eyes.

Tab: sounds exciting.

Kla: No kidding.

Ele: Can’t wait!

Nic: Yeah… don’t forget to review!
