A/N: Good morning/noon/afternoon/dawn/dusk/evening/night!! Ahem, anyway, I'm like SO SORRY I haven't updated anything in a while; I was just like really busy these days and couldn't really find any time to type up anything. Not only that, one of my more successful stories has been put on HIATUS!! And I've just been very annoyed about that.
So anyway, on with the chapter!!
"Hey! Why'd you do that? God! Now my arms are red because of you!" Ren yelled once again, but got no reply. "Hey! Answer me, you dork!"
"…"
Since she got no reply again, Ren angrily stomped toward him and firmly grabbed his shoulder. But due to the fact that Chan was surprisingly lost in his own train of thought, he didn't even realize that he brought her with him behind the restaurant of flapjacks.
"Oh my god! Hey! Why did you bring me here?!" Ren shook his shoulder rapidly. Finally, after much shaking, Chan was finally able to snap back into reality.
"Hey! Why are you shaking me?" Chan asked this time.
"Because you wouldn't answer my stupid question! Why'd you drag me out here?!"
Drag her out here? What? Why would I do that? "What are you talking about? I never dragged you out here!" Obviously, Chan didn't yet come to realize what had exactly happened.
"Wha--!" You know what, I'm getting out of here." Ren calmly said and headed back into IHOP to finish her so-called breakfast with Elsye.
"…stupid girl." Chan scoffed and muttered to himself and headed back home, once again becoming lost in thought.
Her name was…Ren…right?
Yeah
I think I remember my dad saying something about that name before.
I don't
Yeah, didn't he say that out civilization of human beings hated that name and never ever used it for a person's name?
O yeah, but why?
I don't remember/ Maybe dad's library has something about it.
Now back to reality once again, Chan quickly dashed over to his house with inhumane speed. Everyone, including Chan himself, always wondered how Chan was able to run so fast. It wasn't even like Chan ever practiced running or anything; Chan was always incredibly fast ever since he learned to walk.
In a matter of seconds, Chan was already at his house and on his way toward his dad's library.
Step.
Step.
Step.
Pretty soon, Chan found himself at the entrance door of his dad's enormous library. See, his dad was really interested in the existence of mythical creatures and spiritual beings, and a lot of his theories that he somehow came up with were often proved correct. The majority of his theories were almost all about a place called the…Realm of Spirits. The library was completely filled with thousands of books all about the Realm of Spirits and the existence of mythical creatures and spiritual beings.
Slowly, Chan stepped into the vast collection of books and started looking around in the "R" Section of the library. After looking through a few shelves, he finally found an entire shelf on just the name "Ren" alone. As Chan pulled the big book out of the shelf, he felt a presence behind him and carefully turned around.
There behind him stood a tall, brunette, almost nerdy looking man who looked to be somewhere in his forties or fifties looking down at him.
"Hello, son."
"Hey, why'd that weird guy take you out there?" Elsye curiously asked.
"Who knows? He didn't even tell me."
"What'd he say?"
"He didn't say anything. He was just staring blankly into space the entire time, and when he realized that I was there yelling at him, he acted as if nothing happened!"
"What a weird kid." Elsye scoffed.
"Tell me about it." Thinking back to when she first bumped into him yesterday, Ren realized that she was supposed to ask Elsye the weird uniform outfit Chan was wearing yesterday.
"Hey, Elsye?" Ren asked.
"Yeah"
"Do all the schools around here make wearing uniforms mandatory?"
"Not all schools. Actually, there's only one school around here that does that: Blue View Magnet School."
"Hmm…" Ren muttered and thought to herself.
"Why? You want to apply there? 'Cuz I can help."
"I'm not sure. I mean, if I'm gonna be stuck here for awhile, then I should at least act like a normal kid or something and go to school until I can get enough research done to go back home." Ren explained.
"I guess that's true. But how are you gonna get your research done?"
"I'm not sure yet. I haven't really thought about that."
"Why don't you just use the Internet or something?" Elsye suggested.
"What's…Internet?" Ren curiously questioned. Almost immediately, Elsye stomped the brake and the car came to an complete stop.
"You've never heard of the Internet?" Elsye eerily asked.
"Nope"
"Tch, wow, I practically live by the Internet.."
To be continued…
Anyway, next time, I swear to try to update faster..k?
