A Touch of Ginger

It echoes in the resonance of memories held dear,
Reflections of thoughts that threaten a tear.
Only to you does my mind dare to wonder.
With such distance between us my hearts’ torn asunder.

But each day together of you I grow fonder.
With such beauty before me of why there’s no wonder.
Is there proof of this fact? There’s tell-a-tale sings.
When its just you and I, it’s a meeting of minds.

So close in my arms you rest easily.
Meant for each other it’s easy to see.
The brush of your hand sends a chill up my back,
Reminding me further there’s nothing you lack.

Framed by ginger you smile like an angel,
With those fiery lengths so often a tangle.
Orbs so exotic with a gleam all their own,
As I peer in their depths I know that I’m home.

Now I know that it seems so long to wait.
But I’ll be back soon and not a minute too late.
Held tight in my arms you’ll be for the night.
Keeping you safe ‘till the coming of light.
