Deaf Man's House

Black Paintings on my wall
The Disasters stare at me
The Colossus crushes his city
Macabre, verge of insanity

Driven half-mad by this condition
Shut off the lights to inhibition
Sitting in darkness as I paint for you
Resist constraints and paint the truth

Time ravages the horribly scarred
Old women knowing their imminent fate
Atropos are calling now
The four who move through daybreak

The young girl sitting on the edge of the congregation
The goat rises from the sorcery of imagination
The young nun who turned on her order, sitting next to him
All the rest are awestruck as they see this breathing sin

And then all humanity falls to its nature
As the men fight to the death with cudgels
Forced to kill his own brother
When only one can live

The young people laughed at him
The men with the black book
Are they reading or
Are they dead?

Asmodea knows why
They shoot and kill
With the bright red cape
‘round the mountain tall and still

Old one and his death-head companion
Pointing straight at me

Eating and laughing in merriment

As they usher me to mortality
