A Child’s Storm
The misty moon
Is mankind’s doom
And a shadow travels the ground
The children hide
With their big eyes wide
Trying not to make a sound
0
The falling stars
Cover the land in scars
The dead stir in the grave
The children wale
Their skin turns pale
As they try so hard to be brave
0
The howling storm
Blows fierce and forlorn
The trees look like to crack
The children gather
Their skin in a lather
As they wait anxious for the attack
0
A flash from the sky
Shows a monster nearby
And a roar to rattle the bones
The children cower
For night holds the power
As the monsters spawn their clones
0
The sudden light
Is such a fright
That the demons run in fear
The children smile
And rejoice a while
Because dawn is finally here
Author’s Note – Ok, I actually wrote the first two verses of this back in 2006, and coming across it again, I finally worked out its meaning and decided to finish it. Basically, its what a giant thunder storm would look like to a child; the dark clouds rolling in, the rain, the strange sounds and eerie shapes in the darkness, the thunder and lighting … yeah, I don’t know where it came from, as the first two verses were just a nonsense poem that I came up with :P It kind of follows the rhyming scheme of “Hey Diddle Diddle” as well, so keep that in mind when reading it. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed, and please review!
