Authors Note:Today a good friend of mine asked me for a favor. He had written the music for a sort of melancholy soft rock song, but he needed lyrics/voice. So, he asked me to do it. I was excited about having actual music to work with since I've always wanted to turn my poetry into songs. As fate would have it, none of my poems fit for the song, but after listening to the bass and guitar a couple of times I started spouting out lyrics. I came up with this, Here in my Dreams.
I had to record my voice (shudders at the thought), but it came out pretty good, considering my horrible singing.
And it’s here
In my dreams
Where I live
I can laugh
I can dance
And sing
Even if you’re not with me
In my dreams
I live
How it was
To be with you
To walk with you
Our dreams never
Good enough for you
Let go of my hand,
You have to leave.
Once we were great together
Now we’re better off apart.
You can’t tell me that you miss me,
That was not part of the plan
Your touch, your eyes, your smile
Your hair, your lips, your kiss
Here in my dreams…
