I sit under the moonlight

The only Truth known to me tonight

As I lay on the rose-scented bosom of the Instant

My veins brimmed with wine, I let not stand

Numbing thoughts of a future nonexistant

Such sweet caresses can only be felt by the Present

Morrow come, the light of the Moon

May seek me in vane none to soon

Honest is my thirst, faithful my wine alone

Easy may Inebriety be found to atone

Though not the secret whispered in Lover's tone

By the fickle Mistress I dared called my own

She drank the last drop of love in my soul

But filled it with infinity of the Unkown

In a sea of blood-colored wine poured to curse

My life is but a bubble destined to burst

Lingering merely long enough to know this thirst

Forget! Let Oblivion take me!

But a Voice spoken in Mind's lucidity

Cries "Fool! Can you not see?

The secret of God's Immortality

For all its impeccable Simplicity

Man's time intangible and lost it may be

Heaven and Hell and all Eternity

Even the End of Ages lies only in thee!"
